I think the grill design is made of pure aluminum just like the Beosound 35.

Maybe they are returning their old trademark when it comes to craftsmanship which made them popular back in the years.

I guess this calls for a visit to the IFA exhibition in Berlin next month for the launch! Big Smile

I just went to the page, on a large monitor and resized the browser window so I could see the teaser images behind the annoying overlay. Seems to me like they're cousins to the BL35, rather than a standalone music system, though I'm prepared to be surprised. I'd love for it to be another actual music system to add to the Moment in the B&O collection.

Why are they called BeoSound 1 & 2? Those two names have already been used!?!

"Avant" had also been used, but B&O chose to rekindle that one, perhaps these are re-imaginings of the original Beosound 1 / 2 in concept / style?

I'm more concerned about a link to a website that's surely going to infect a computer with malware..

it does not look like a verified source and i don't trust the website

BS1 is the smaller Essence-like controller, BS2 is a loudspeaker dock station for BS1 perhaps?

My gut feeling is this will not be a BS90-type product.

Ah well....keep on waiting and hoping.

If this really is the new product in the Beosound class, it lacks again the HD streaming services from Tidal, Deezer... So sorry to see B&O struggle and not providing the sound quality a premium brand should give its customers.

No ... I mean it's strange that they re-use the naming BeoSound 1 & 2 as there already was a BeoSound 1 (https://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=946) and a BeoSound 2 (https://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=959)

.. anyway.. Marketing Dept. must be out of ideas... First recycling the Avant name... now the BeoSound 1 & 2

There's no need to feel sorry: Premium sound quality and streaming services is a contradiction as it is only compressed music and has nothing to do with premium sound quality!

Design wise it seems as we will finally after years(!) of waiting see a Bang & Olufsen product which deserves the brand name in terms of design! Hopefully the rest fits, too (built quality, technical and sofware quality)!
I'm excited to see more photos and inspect it in real life.

What I heard is that BS1 and BS2 represent two different sizes. The smaller suitable for e.g kitchen countertops . Looking like a kitchen machine or advanced pepper millSmile

@ BeoGreg

It is time to replace your died BeoSound 3 for the new BeoSound 1 and 2.

They are made of aluminum in the Bang & Olufsen's tradition: beautiful ! !

They are designed by Torsten Valeur from David Lewis Designers Studio.

Deezer Elite offers lossless streaming. I am using it with my Beolab 20s and previously with my Beolab 9s. Listening to the same track via Spotify and Deezer Elite, the improvement in sound with the Deezer lossless is obvious.

But I doubt the BS1 or 2 will have an integrated FM radio like the BS3.

Same title, cover art etc. can search for same tracks in both Deezer and Spotify. Sometimes the results match. Sometimes they do not.

But even ignoring comparison of the "same" tracks, the Deezer Elite sound quality is vastly superior.

@Puncher

Let me quote Will Smith in IRobot : That, detective, is the right question!

Its not!

The watermark is embedded in the audio track and the audio data is usually delivered by the major record labels, i.e their interpretation!

Its very simple, just do a bit comparison!

Face it guys, streaming is the music industry's version of junk food!  Convenient, cheap, fast and everywhere, but very not very nutritious!

On top of that, none of them are making a profit, and the ones buying hardware targeted towards specific services, face the real risk of experiencing the inevitable : Service not found!

Signing up to streaming simply makes you the krill of the ecosystem!

Yes Karel, fully aware. I still have both. My BS1 is number 767/1000. And it still works 100%.

At the end of the day, it's just a name for an obsolete product and potentiality a new incoming product(s). I thought it was interesting to relate the two names to two product rather than one.

we will see at the end of August.

But you don't know what EQ, compression (volume) etc each supplier has applied to the track or even if the source tracks are from the same master. It is therefore very difficult to claim superior delivery unless you are certain they are streaming the "same track".

I would like a carcharodon carcharias BS90 (hell given the date...a BS91 will do).

What would this look like technically if it were made now by B&O?

Will the new Beosound devices all have integrated speakers is there a device which acts like one of the lovely older systems like Beosound 3000 or 9000 where you can connect seperate speakers and install the device where you want? I'm so excited... :-)

Sort of hoping this is the case, but I'm not holding my breath. I'd love an Essence-plus or Moment-minus sort of device.
