Kitchen sound that is future proof

Hello All

After some thinking and agonising over buying a speaker for the kitchen I have finally come to a selection between M5, Beosound 35, and Essence MK2 or beosound2

The choice was based on being able to use the item after I move house in the near future.

The M5 has to much Bass, the BS35 is to expensive for a purchase for a few months, the Beosound 2 would not get used and is a fad for me.

 

So my choice will be Essence Mk2 with some CX50's which can all be used in my bathroom after the move.

So my question is from the essence I will connect to a MCL2P or Beolink passive or MCL Convertor which can all be found on ebay, biggest question is do they all act as an amp when powerlink is activated and swtich the amp on and off?

I know I can use the MCL2P but I can find passives on ebay for about £50, will a passive work without the IR and just the PL and Speakers connected to it.

All three will work.

I use a MCL2P and have used an Beolink Passive

I use a Beolink Passive with my Essence.  Just make sure you get the mk2 PL cable - even if the dealer says it is not necessary (because it is).   No IR eye or ML is required.  Just plug connect the PL input socket and plug it in.

Just bought a passive MCL on eBay

Next step some CX50 or CX100's with cables

Then final steps will be a worktop and Essence MK2 when one comes on eBay

Since I think about a similar setup, which of the three below mentioned solutions to use old speakers with a new essence mk2, would you recommend/which drawbacks do I have to expect.

Currently I have only an a3 in use but want to grow to a nl multiroom setup.
