I'm currently starting to change my classic B&O setup and add wireless technology. Last year I bought an Avant-garde 55" and connected it with a NL/ML converter to the old installation in my house. Since B&O is adding now more and more wireless speakers I bought a Beosound 1 for one of my rooms.
Unfortunately I'm unable to connect this speaker to the Multiroom configuration. I followed all the steps. Connected the speaker to my phone and when I open the BeoMusic app, I can't see the speaker and so I'm unable to select it. Has anybody an idea what to do here? The a ant is connected with a LAN cable to my network and I also switched on the wireless function.
If you are an iDevice user, this might help looking into your configuration:

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Hi Barchen
Congrats on your BS1.
This is what I would check:
1. BeoSetup app on your phone/ipad (if you have it) and see if the BS1 is a "product on your network" . Make sure your phone/ipad is on your wireless network and not the 3G/4G network
2. if yes, go to step 4 below
3. If No, then you will have to add it to your network as per the instructions in the box. On the inside of the BS1 box there was a internet link URL - type that in your browser - I found that setup shown that way was pretty easy
4. In the BS1 in BeoSetup . Touch > Settings > Beolink > Link to other Products > in the primary product drop down select the Avant
5. Now it should work
I went thru all the steps. For whatever reason I do not see the BS1 in my network. I'm in the same network. Bluetooth works fine but when I try to find the BS1 in the Beosetup app, the device is not shown. Also in the BeoMusic app it's not listed.
I recommend a factory reset. Use a paperclip to reset pushing into the small hole under the BS1.
Something must have went wrong in the initial setup.
Livingroom: BL3, BL11, BV11-46 Kitchen: Beosound 1 GVA, Beocom 2 Bathroom: M3 Homeoffice: M3, Beocom 2 Library: Beosound Emerge, Beocom 6000 Bedroom: M5, Essence remote Travel: Beoplay E8 2.0, Beoplay EQ, Beoplay Earset

And if you do , on the inside of the box is a URL on one of the flaps - start here with the set up after your reset
@Bärchen
Congrats - also on the new M5.
Please tell us more about that (pics are welcome too).
yay :-) 😁 👏
Bärchen: Better integration of the Apple Music system would be great - such as direct access to radio stations. Not sure why B&O is so restrictive since they offer all the other streaming solutions.

First of all.. congrats on the M5!
But regarding Apple Music... it's not a restriction by B&O... It's pure an Apple Restriction. Spotify & Deezer have dedicated apps for music systems... where Apple Music is, at this point, restricted to Apple devices only...
Karel.
Congratulations on the speakers and getting them to work.
I heard the M5 the other day compared to a BS1 and BS2. I thought the M5 was a little too deep on the bass with a muddy midrange sound. However this can be due to its configuration.
How do you compare the BS1 to the M5. Is the M5 half as good as the twice as expensive BS1?
Cheers!
You are right. Two different speakers. The BS1 is very clear and nice for all kind of music. Especially when you listen to Jazz or Smooth Jazz, the speaker is great. The M5 is more bass oriented. Up to know you can't change the settings with the play App as you can do on the smaller ones. I hope B&O is adding that feature and you can reduce the bass a little bit. Sound is fine for Radio and pop music. The BS1 is twice as good. The only thing I hate about the BS1 is the charger. This is not nicely done. You have to do it quite often and than you have to little in the plug on the bottom side. B&O should have thought about a nicer way such as a cradle you place the speaker in to charge.

Aussie Michael:Agree. I said that earlier it should have acted as like a base that you get with a kettle
