Hi All

I tried to connect my Beolab Penta with my new Avant but no luck? Maybe I did something wrong?

Powerlink from Avant (RJ45 to 8pin) into ML/MCL converter. Converter has 2 old pin outputs for the speakers.

It didn't work.

Any ideas?

You'll need the 'fully wired' PL cable.

(Otherwise the converter won't turn on/trigger on).

Ask your B&O dealer or Steve at SoundsHeavenly for help (and details).

My RJ45 to Powerlink cable was from Steve.

Maybe not the right spec? There's only one of them on the site with different lengths.

This - from Steve - should be the right one - (is that the one you have?).

http://soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/31-rj45-to-powerlink-compatible-all-in-one-cable-convert-new-2013-ethernet-powerlink-to-traditional-8-pin-din-powerlink.html

From B&O it should be these:

'The cables 6271225 and 6271226 are needed with the ML/MCL Converter and BeoLink Passive only.'

Please post some photos of the Pentas next to your Avant once you have everything set. Up. I was thinking of mating my Pentas with an Avant 55. I'd love to see how this looks.Smile

I have put them away in storage while the house is being done.

I wish I knew about what MM said earlier.

I was going to keep them in the living room for a while until the house gets complete.

I tried to do that.

I too have the ML/MCL converter.

Can you confirm the pins for the Penta cable on the converter has a 3 pint input. Did you have to cut 1 of the 4 pins on the cable?

I remember that the the b&o guy cut some wires, but can't remember where...β˜ΊοΈπŸ‘ŒπŸ»

If you want the Avant to switch on the ML/MCL converter, you need to switch 2 wires in one of the connectors. The yellow and the grey (Pin1 & 4).

That should work Thumbs Up
