Dear all,
I am new to this forum and wonder if someone could help me out:
I try to install a Beolink active in a link room via Masterlink. Currently a Beolab 3500 is also installed in the same room und is up and running, but i would like to exchange Beolab 3500 against a BeoSound Shape driven by a Beolink active.  Active is in Mode 6 and beolab 3500 in Mode 0 (= no reception of ir Signals). For test purposes I have connected a Beolab 4000 to the active.
The active turns on and also Beolab 4000 light turns green but after a few seconds it automatically turns off. No Sound is coming. This happens both, when using beo 4 and/or the ir eye of the active module.
As a test i connected a Beolab 2000 to the Masterlink plug and this one works.
So i assume the Masterlink cable is correctly connected to the main System, which in my case is beovision 10 and beocenter 2.

What is going wrong here? Any suggestion is much appreciated.

Did you try to connect the BL4000 to another system in the house?

Are you sure that it works?

Yes it works  - it is my rear loudspeaker in the main system.

Rolli:

This happens both, when using beo 4 and/or the ir eye of the active module.
What does this mean?
What type nr. is the active? 1616? 1636?
What is the Software Version?
What command do you use to activate the active? A.AUX? TV? DTV?

Are you sure, that you have used the PL output to connect the BL4000 (and not the PC input)?

Had the same idea, MM.

Can you play a source connected to the PC socket?

Good idea Ralf, i will see if I can  find an adapter for my phone and check PC Input tonight.

For the time being:  Is there a special sequence how to  power up the system (e.g. TV first and link room thereafter ... or power up active first and plug in masterlink  thereafter .... or something else?)

Also: i joined the masterlink „like for like“. I somehow remember that zwo wires could (should ?) be joined together: pink and white/blue. Could this be a the problem?

Thanks for your support.

You know that you’ll need a special cable for this - not just an ordinary 5-pin DIN adapter!!!

I understood that you already have a ML network running

and

if the ML-plug works for a BS2000, it is not likely that the fault is in the ML connection.

Ciao Millemissen, i tried with the adapter I had and yes: I can play Music from my phone via the „PC“  Socket and contol e.g. the volume with beo 4.

That seems to work ... Andy ideal?

Regarding the ML: yes the Beolab 2000 is working at this Plug. I only thought mabe the active is somehow different ...?...

Is the Powerlink cable 8 pin (fully wired)? Did you test it with other sources?

Ciao Ralf,

i did the following: i connected the Beolink active to a Masterlink socket that we use in the Garden in Summer Time with Beolab 2000.

Voila: it worked and was fully operational. :-)

However in the link room it does not. Strange: Beolab 2000 works but active module not.

Tricky. What can I do?

Dear all,

i have no idea how to proceed. Does anybody have a clou?

My current assumptions are

- Beolink active with all connections and cabels work (at the ML Plug für Garden, but not at the ML Plug intended in the linkroom)

- Beolab 2000 works fine at the Garden ML Plug and at the linkroom ML Plug

what can i do in order to make the Beolink active work at the linkroom Plug ?

kind rGeradstich
