Hi forum ,

Can anyone please advice me ,

i would like to change the backup battery on the processorboard in my beomaster 7000.

What is the correct procedure to do that without the risk of loosing the stored settings in the static ram .

You WILL lose the info.
Adding external voltage across the cell is not recommended, it can (and will probably) explode
and that's not a pleasant experience.

The service manual can be downloaded from our main website. A minimum membership level of silver
is required but it's easily worth the small membership fee and we would appreciate the support.

There's not a lot to it if I remember correctly. The only thing I would like to say is that I recommend
you do it with no speakers connected since you have no idea what the settings are after replacing the
cell, and that includes the volume setting. Don't ask why I feel the need to tell you this.

Volume will be preset to 26 as far as i understood , all audio settings will be gone , no stations in memory anymore , BUT..........

Is there anything more stored in that ram , i have read somewere ( long time ago ) there was something with the tuner 'offset "or so ????

I don't remember setting tuner offsets in a BM7000. Some of the Beocenter models have the need but I don't
think the BM7000 does.
It's all in the service manual. Nothing to be afraid of.
Of course, the new battery must be replaced (soldered in) at an antistatic workplace to prevent static discharge damage.

Hi!

I am due to replace the backup battery on my BM7000. How did it go for you? What did you have to reprogram after you replaced the battery, did you experience tuner offset?

What data was lost please?

Thanks BeoMedia

i had no adjustments to do , all worked well .

i prepared everything so the time without power was as short as possible ( don't know if that effected the swap ) .

i remember getting the battery itself  is a bit of a problem
