Hello,

I am a bit new in the B&O World, and I have a question that will probably look a bit silly for most of you. However I searched for the answer in the manuals and in the forum, and I still cannot figure it out.

I have a Beovision Avant 55 with 4 speakers connected (Powerlink). I would like to use these speakers to play some CD's as well. Therefore I am looking at a way of connecting a Beosound 3200 to the TV.

Is it possible? If yes, are there any restrictions? If not, is there is a workaround?

Thank your for help

Christian

Hi Christian  welcome to beoworld ,the short answer is yes you can , check this arrangements  on bv7-32  (reference book) page 50, I would imagine bs3200 was too old to include in  bv avant/Ng configurations?!

Hope that helps

You could connect the Aux of the 3200 to the Aux in of the Avant but that’s not the most elegant solution.

In an ideal situation you would need an MasterLink to Netlink convertor in order to connect the MasterLink for the 3200 and convert it into the current NetLink of the Avant.

Thanks for your answer. I will use a convertor.

I have also played CDs by playing in the slot loading CD DVD player. It is a Toshiba one I have mounted at the rear top if the Avant. It’s quite neat.

But I appreciate you want to use your BeoSound. And yes you would need an ML to NL converter.

If you’re in Australia I saw one for sale on eBay through DanishAV recently

Use 1 free analog socket of the BV11 and name it "CD" . Option 2 for the BV11. Connect the BS3200 with this analog socket and set it in option 1. After a command of CD on the remote, the BV11 will switch on and the BS3220 will also startup and respond to your instructions on your remote.

Thanks. Unfortunately I am as far as I can be from Australia.

I'll find one on eBay here in Europe

The BV11 responds to the CD instruction if it's set in option 2. So, volume should then also be controlled. Just connect the AUX from the BS3200 to the BV11 analog inputs. Should work.  A friend has the same setup with a BC2.

Hi cge01,

Welcome to Beoworld!

Yes, for either version of Avant 55, you can link the Beosound into the audio input of the TV to share the speakers:-

Avant mk.1 (9 pin AV socket): https://soundsheavenly.com/tv-input/138-2294-9-pin-av-cable-for-beovision-11-12-new-generation-avant-v1-and-beosystem-4-powerlink-input.html#/4-length-3m

Avant mk.2 (3.5mm L/R In socket): https://soundsheavenly.com/televisions/158-2365-powerlink-to-beovision-14-horizon-cable-link-your-audio-system-to-your-new-tv.html#/2-length-1m

Please turn up the volume of the Beosound to give normal control from the TV remote.

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.
