For some time I’ve had an ATV3 mounted inside my BV11 (my wife doesn’t like external boxes).

I would like to have an ATV4K instead, but there wasn’t enough space for it (it’s 12 mm thicker than the ATV3), so I asked my local B&O dealer what to do. He showed me, that the BV11 was actually preparred for it, but it required that a small piece of the inside cabinet was removed.

Before removal:

After removal:

This piece was removed:

And now the ATV4K fits nicely:

PS: The PUC table for the ATV4K is great. It has direct access to Home screen and Airplay speakers Big Smile

Best regards - Dyssegaard

I agree with your wife that external boxes are ghastly. Good job. Thank you for sharing. I’ve wanted a Bv11 for years but my wife has gone the Costco route sadly. The ability to hide boxes away is a strength with this TV.

Nice tip!

Is that a 46" or 55" you have there?

Does it matter for the space available?

It’s a 40” so I guess that there won’t be less space in the bigger models.

The ATV4/4K has a depth of 35 mm, so it should be easy to verify in advance if it will work.

I find that the ATV4K runs hotter than previous gen (fans etc)

Would it pay to turn the ATV 4K around so the bottom (fans) face outward ?

Even though the BV11 can’t handle 4K did you install the 4K version because it’s a quicker device ?

My install was the “non 4K” version. The 4K have small slots in the bottom to ventilate the casing. If installed like this it’s recommended to mount the ATV 4K so that it can ventilate.

I had to refit the PUC cable because the ir-sensor location of the ATV 4K was different from the ATV 3 previously installed. At the same time I turned the ATV 4K so the fans are now facing outward. Everything works perfect now.

My dealer recommended the 4K version due to the better performance for a very small additional price compared to the HD version.

I also found that the puc cable is mounted on the left side of the ATV4K

Ever since I changed that I was happy to works well.

The ATV4K still doesn’t turn off though when I turn off my BV14

Same thing in my BeoVision 14-40. A bug in the PUC-table I guess.

What I worked out today is that there was under PUC management that there was an update the the ATV4 PUC

So I updated it.

I will see if that fixes.

As a workaround you can press LIsT and power and it shuts off. Not sure if I tried that before the update or not.

I'll update my PUC tonight... But I'm also running the beta of tvOS... so probably 2 issues at once... tvOS should probably be out of beta beginning October (or at the latest 1Nov when AppleTV+ launches)

Same issue here with BeoPlay V1 and ATV3: PUC is the correct one and it seems to be updated but it is not switching off.
