Right now I have an BL8000 connected to a Core. This works great for music but now I want them to use for my TV audio too and is it possible to make a 5.1 setup with another pair of BL8000 and other?

Thanks in advance!

I am sure, that you - with 5.1 - mean a speaker setup consisting of front, center, subwoofer and surround channels.

For this you’ll need some kind of multi channel processing - as you find that in common A/V receivers or already built-in to the Bang & Olufsen tv’s.

You can not make that happen with just the BS Core alone - however, you can integrate the BS Core with the newer B&O-tv and choose the front speakers (e.g. your BL8000) there as the speakers for only-audio/music.

In short, you can ad more speaker but will not get surround sound as the core doesn’t support that. The core does 2.1 or any multiplication of that, but stereo only.

Depending on who you ask, it may still be a good addition for tv. I always liked the speaker 4 setting of old beovisions, some others didn’t.

New: Beovision Harmony, Beolab 50's, Beolab 28's, Beolab 18's, Beolab 17's, Beosound Stage & LG, Beosound 2, Beoplay M3, Beoplay A1, Beoplay Portal, Beoplay H4 gen 2, Beoplay E8 3.0

Old: Beosound 9000 mk3, Beolab 3's, Beovision Eclipse, Beolab 1's, Beolab 2, Beovision 10-46, Overture 2300, beolab 8000's, Beolab 4000's, Beovision avant 32" etc. etc.
