Hi all,
how can i tell which generation a beosound 2 is ?
i read gen 2 can come without GVA (which mine doesnt have) but is there a serial no range to confirm ?
there is no info in the products section of Beoworld on these speakers so im a bit lost.
thanks in advance
david
The gen 1, gen 2 (no gva) and gen 2 (gva) all have different firmware versions so the firmware version should tell you. The gen 1 products are on 1.22.X. Not quite sure about the gen 2, but think the gva version is on 1.6.X and the non-gva version is 1.8.X I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
I have a BeoSound 2 gen 1 (no GVA) and gen 2 (GVA).
I can't tell any audio differences between the two, but I'd always get the GVA. In fact, I'm tempted to get rid of my non-GVA gen 1 and replacing it with another GVA model.
It's so easy to use by voice. I can walk in to the room and tell it to play a particular radio track or audio stream, increase the volume and so much more. No remembering to find a controller, no need for the Halo, nothing. Live in 2020 not 1994
Never mind 1994. I don't want to live in 1984. No mics for me please.

Oh dear. This is the kind of paranoia my Mother would tell me about.

It's all a trade-off I suppose. For some the convenience outweighs the data sharing costs, for others it does not. To each his own.
B&O in my life 😊:
Perfect, thank you !
