BV7, Dolby and Sky HD

i have a problem that has been annoying me for a while with my setup

I have SKY HD conencted via HDMI and toshlink to optical to my BV7 on AV1

When i have the sound input set to HDMI its perfect but i dont get any dolby sound

When i have it set to Toshlink or whatever its called i get dolby on dolby programs but when i watch normal tv i get sound cut outs every few seconds, it sounds like someone is pressing mute on off quickly for half a second at a time and its annoying me

the sound works perfectly but i cannot leave it set on dolby

 

any thoughts?

Sky can only output dolby via the digital audio output, not the hdmi - i have never understood why!

As for the sound dropping out, you may have a slightly faulty optical converter. Does your sky box have a coaxial digital output as well? You can connect that directly to the Bv7 - no adaptor required.
