Cd player was not playing disks at all so I ordered the capacitor kit from beoparts.
The 33uf cap was completely dead so I was hopeful , but after installing the new one it still does not play at all. Does not spin.
I looked through many posts and the other main suggestion was to clean the lens, which I did, but still no luck.
I disconnected the ribbons and pushed them back on, they all seem ok.
Anything else I can check?
Thanks!
Will the disc rotate when you press play?If not - will it rotate by hand?

Could be one of the rubber suspensions that is broken, this will cause the disc to rest on the loader, and physically can run turn. Beoparts also has new suspension rubber for this.
Remove the front panel, and you can see if the CD units sits to low, and it is also possible to see the maybe broken suspensions.

I checked the suspension, it feels fine, it's still flexible anyway.
I can spin a disk easily by hand.
When I press play the laser swings into place and it moves a very small amount counter-clockwise. Helping it move does nothing so I don't think it's getting stuck on anything.
Check your work with the capacitor kit.Solder joints, plarities etc.Check also for cracked solder joints on the large main board. Particularly at the regulators and connectors.
Polarity is definitely correct but I'll re-check my soldering. I did all the electrolytics on the small board.
I'll also check the other things you mentioned. Time to buy a magnifying glass I guess.
