It's been a while.
Anyone bought a BeoPlay A6 yet? Available in Denmark. Anyone heard it?
I was told that it would receive an October 19th release here in the UK. Not happened. Anyone know when it will be released in the UK?
Hopefully around the same time as the new Bath store (which is taking ages to re-open).
have been told my dealer is expecting the showrooms A6 mid november , and then available december but limited numbers at first.
am ordering this week..
Limited launch - UK amongst the first countries to receive. I have two display arriving 17/11 and my orders are showing a delivery date of March, although I am assured that I will get them before Christmas....

The Scandinavian market seem to have priority and will be the place to shop if you want one by the holiday season. But, as always (?), they have announced production issues resulting in a shipment delay of 1-4 weeks (taking us from mid-oct to mid-nov).
I feel sorry for all the B1's that would have benefited from having this available in December - not early next year.
The sound is amazing for its size - I found it to be almost too great, leaving few arguments for the A9 or a Essence+speaker combo in a link room.

w5bno123:The U.K. market is third in line to stock and there are only 560 units due in before Christmas . With 50% of our allocation pre sold it's not going to make our Christmas so we will have to be selling a lot of something else, which in fairness there is a good range of products....
But what about the colours?
Probably only the light grey version will be in the first delievery (?).
Maybe the B1-shops could 'persuade' some of the costumers to wait for the other colour options, which will come later.....for a delayed Christmas gift.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

I´m thinking of replacing by BL3500 with the A6. I can then remove the Masterlink cabling.
Will the A6 be a worthy replacement?
Yes, indeed, if we only look at the sound quality. But there is something beoish about the BL3500 that the A6 misses, but at the same time I must admit that the A6 fits the current interior trends a lot better than the early-90's-look of the BL3500. But I still love the BL3500.

Thanks Roger. Agree that the BL3500 is a classic and Beoish as you say

When the A6 first appeared on the Play website it appeared that you got a light grey cover automatically and had to pay extra for the other colours. If that is still intended to be the case (colour options aren't currently showing) there wouldn't be an incentive to delay.

I was to a dealer in Paris this Tuesday and he told me that the A6 is not out yet (except few in Scandinavia) and that it will not be available before 1-2 months... It will for sure miss my Christmas and I'll end up buying a Devialet phantom or a BW Zeppelin wireless...
Easy to find in B&O and other hifi shops in Danemark.
Beautiful product but very poor bass, high without precision and medium... Medium? Which medium?
It was in the Copenhagen B&O with one of their sources so maybe this listening have to be done again.
Hi moxxey,
They have one in the Bournemouth store, I had a quick listen - but in the middle of the showroom, I liked it, i thought it had good bass and enjoyed its overall sound - but no enough to upgrade from my beolit 15 for now. However, I don't think they can actually get any in for orders until the new year! So will look again then I think, as the multi room is a tempter over the 15 (it's in my kitchen/diner mainly)
We have one on display in the showroom in Wilmslow and stock available for immediate sale if anybody wants to place an order.

Afterall the A6 seems to be a friendly guy: https://www.nijhazer.com/images/speaker.jpg
I just ordered one from madeindesign. They had a 15% off this weekend. But there is at least 3 weeks waiting time as it is not available yet in France.
Does anyone know when the floor stand will be available as I would like to use it as a table stand to put the A6 on a small Knoll tulip side table?
I keep hearing the Sonos Play:5 is a better choice. Especially since you can get TWO of them for the same price as the B&O.
Plus it doesn't look like the back of an office chair.

I´m not sure what the floor stand really add. Think its only a slight tilt upwards. The A6 still has a rubber surface on each end underneath to stand on, so to put in on e.g a cabinet is no problem.

The Sonos 5 looks like a block, at least the A6 has some style and is diiferent to the majority of speakers out there. But if you just want cheap, no style and mass market then sonos is most probably the way to go, luckily now a days we have a range of choice of speakers which suit all our needs!

I have in mind to place the A6 on a small Knoll tulip side table which is only 40cm diameter. I guess that the floor stand will be more convenient according to the size of the table and that it will look better.

I guess it depends if you want to look at your speakers or listen to them. Im all about design as a designer myself but for the cost of the A6 you will undoubtedly get better SOUND from the 2 Sonos 5 speakers for the same cost of 1 A6.

So - you have already heard the A6?
Millemissen: So - you have already heard the A6? MM
Yup, last Friday. Sounds good, nothing mind-blowing. Looks ok also but not quite my taste. Definitely not worth the price though. If it was cheaper than would be justifiable.
Different tastes are ok!
I guess this is more a question about wanting the B&O opportunity or the Sonos opportunity.
After two weeks I can confirm I like the A6. It took some speaker burn-in and also I wanted to decrease bass so I did set the switch to wall setting.
NL works flawlessly, looks cool (if such design is your thing - for me it is). I definitely plan to wall-mount it and put it a bit higher as it is placed in corridor so the ear level is higher than normal sitting position.
Sexy thing: I have connected my Beocenter 8500 Powerlink to A6's line-in so when I play CD on a Beocenter I hear the sound on A6 and can share it via NL even on the A9 in my living room. Very cool.
Finally: looking forward for additional covers to become available.
We are thinking of renovating our bathroom, and replace the BL2000 speaker now fixed on the wall.
After this renovation I would like to have also NL capabilities in the bathroom, but I wonder if the A6 would be as resistant to the humid conditions of such a room in comparison to the BL2000.

Oops! Sorry replied to a very old post!
I read in the What HiFi review that the A6 could be paired with an Avant (new). Has anybody experience of this. Assuming this would need to be a wired connection to the TV. Was hoping it could be done wirelessly to have some mulito room functionality.
