New features

With the new PCB for Beo4, we also offer new soft buttons in the LIST menu giving direct access to 'Smart TV' features and configured sources.

• APPLETV - can be used for source selection for Apple TV box when implemented in TV

• P-APPLE - used for PiP

• L-APPLE

• A-APPLE

• H.MEDIA - access to HomeMedia on TV

• P-H.MED - used for PiP

• L-H.MED

• W.MEDIA - access to Smart TV

• P-W.MED - used for PiP

• L-W.MED

• YOUTUBE - Direct access to YouTube app in Smart TV when implemented in TV

• P-MUTE in list for AUDIO sources

Compatibility

The software is linked to the new PCB and cannot be ported to previous versions of the PCB.

The PCB is, however, compatible with all versions of Beo4 and can be used to upgrade older Beo4 by replacing the PCB.

Button layout remains the same.

First serial number and date of introduction

First we will make the switch for service parts and then in production.

The new software and tables will be shipped with the service replacement PCB as from December 2012. The new PCB and tables will be introduced in production of Beo4 remote controls early 2013.

If you buy a BV11/V1be sure to get the 'new Beo4'

If you already have one, ask the dealer to upgrade your 'old Beo4' with the new PCB.

If you have bought it not too long ago, he might even upgrade or swap without costs.

Just checked, the latest version of v1 does support appletv command, older commands (net) have gone.

the command web is a synonym for dtv. Appletv seems to be a new command.

wow!!

NET- has gone !?

YouTube, web TV, and home media must also be new commands ... Or are they revamped versions of net-radio and net-music ?

I don't understand how they would think there is no need for net-radio .........

Youtube and web TV are not available yet for source definition. N.Music and N.Radio are not available, the only audio source available ist Radio, which plays radio stations via sat tuner. The Media command brings up al list of available dlna servers.

So with the new and updated version of the Beo 4 it is NOT possible to access N.Music and N.Radio? That means it is useless for e.g. Beosound 5 users?

Why not?

If you connect it via NL/ML-converter (to a audiomaster) it would act as any other videomaster.

ah ha !

I did misunderstand -sorry.

I can see the logic ... No integration, so no need; and when there is a need, then issue a software update

Yes, that's true. But I use the V1 as a stand alone product, at least so far, maybe I change with v.Opt 6 of NL/ML-converter, It is great to have an AUDIO source like RADIO mapped to sat tuner. You simply start RADIO and browse through the radio channel list. After some time with no IR interaction the screen goes off. If you use Beo4 you have EPG and all other features other TV channels offer.

So could think of having the option to map N.Radio, N.Music to some sources of home networt, if used as stand anlone product, just like the new YOUTUBE command maps to an App of the Smart-TV source.

You often have N.Radio and N.Music as a source when you have a BM/BS5-combo.

In that case it would actually be smarter to to rename these sources to Radio and CD in the menu of the BS5 - for direct-access on Beo4.

Of cource you need the NL/ML-converter for that!

N.B. Not everyone has access to radiochannels via satelite.

Could you give us some/more examples of the use of the mapping of the new sources in the list/rv-menu?

Does the command 'YOUTUBE' opens the YouTube-app from standby....?

Does it actually make life easier for a NB11/V1-user?

I don't think that is possible. The V1 and BV11 can not act as a link-TV in as in the "old" master link setup.

Not now, but in future I think it will be possible. Have a look here http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/4392/39634.aspx#39634

Hi,

Here in austria it is quite common to have tv via satelite.

The youtube command is not yet available on the v1, so I can give you no example how it works. I'll tell you as soon as it included in a new SW release.
