Is it possible to connect my Apple TV to my Beogram 3000-2? The Apple uses an optical audio output, not sure if there is anyway to interface this with analog. Thanks in advance for the consideration.
Do you mean a Beomaster 3000-2 amplifier? Beograms are record decks.
Chris.
I'm sorry, senility must be setting in. Yes, I meant Beomaster 3000-2 amp.
Looks like certain Apple TV's are easier than others.. Some have analog audio and others don't.
Since you have brought up the question and are having difficulty, I am going to assume it only has an optical out. Which means you need to get an optical -> analog converter.
Good luck!
Beo4 'til I die!
Exactly. I'm assuming the conversion from optical to analog is improbable.
search for a DAC
Thanks pacificocean. I'm astounded that the solution is so simple. I was assuming any conversion would not be separate from an amp. Glad to be wrong. I see several options out there for DACs, mostly affordable.

No, not at all.

Thanks Evan! I saw this one, too. Also an option to aquire the cables for a modest fee.
Keep in mind that there is a hugh quality difference in dacs. Mostly you get value for the money you pay. I payed more for my dac then for my second hand beomaster.
Wow, you aren't kidding about the price differences. I may have to go the lesser route for the time being.
I'm going to see what happens when I edit the title to make it more correct. My apologies if I screw up this thread.
