Hi All

I have just received my NOW TV box and connected via HDMI to my BeoVision 7 32".

Set up was easily achieved and connected to my Wi-Fi network straight away. I checked the display settings on the NOW TV box and set it to 720P.

I can navigate to all menus and scroll through contents page with perfect picture.

HOWEVER, as soon as I try and watch a programme the screen flashes purple every other second. The menu and on screen graphics are unaffected. It is only the programme content that suffers. I have tried most channels including BBC News, Sky News, BBC iPlayer, 4oD Five on demand and Movies.

I have tried another HDMI cable and tried both of the two HDMI inputs on the TV to no avail.

I am stumped. Any suggestions?

Have you updated the NOW box firmware - apparently there was an issue where the moving picture would disappear, not the same I know but you should be working with the lastest firmware before chasing issues.

get the update by going to Settings > Software Update > Check Now.

Have you set the display options of the box to 720p resolution? Are you connected to the BV7 via a HDMI to DVI adaptor?

Hi Puncher, Yes I have checked the settings of the NOW TV box and it confirms that I have the current software.

Hi Martin

The NOW TV box is connected via HDMI cable straight to the BeoVision7 32. I have two HDMI sockets and get the same result through both.

I have also tried changing the video display properties of the NOW TV box from 720P, 16:9 & 4:3. I still get the same fault on all settings.

Do you have another TV to check if the NOW TV box is ok?

I tried it on my daughters LCD which also has two HDMI sockets but the box doesn't work at all on that. We just get a message saying video input not supported.

At least I get the menu and navigation when I connect to my BeoVision 7.

I spoke to a B&O service engineer who said that it sounded like a problem with the HDCP. He suggested that I go into the customer service menu and switch off the HDCP.

I did this but now instead of getting the flashing purple screen every other second, I just get a solid purple screen and no picture whatsoever.

I can't believe a box that costs just £9.99 can cause so much hassle. I am close to giving up and sending it back for a refund. Shame as the operation and menu navigation is so easy. Just can't watch any programmes :-(

The issue was resolved by updating the M2 & H8 software in the BeoVision7.Apparently there have been some updates to the HDCP.

NOW TV box works perfectly :-)

Hi Mark

I work at the Bang & Olufsen store in Liverpool. I am not an engineer but have enough experience to use the service tool. I did it myself so no cost incurred.

Are you asking about the software because you have a BeoVision7 yourself? If you let me know the Type number I am happy to check the latest software values for your set.
