Hello,

I want to connect the new Beolab 19 subwoofer to my BV 7-40 MK 6. In speaker setup menue I can only select Beolab 2 or 11 as subwoofer. Do I need a software update although I have Build 1105 installed which should be the actual software (http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/wikis/revisions/b-amp-o-product-revision-status.aspx)?

Regards

Hi Räuber,

congrats to your new sub Smile

I doubt that there will be a SW-update for that.

Why not try out both - play around a little and see/hear what suit you best in your listening conditions.

Hi MM,

I think it should be an updata available. Not only for BL 19, but also for BL 17 and 18. Can't be a final solution to check out if settings for other Beolabs match with the new Beolabs.

Before I will go for Beolab 19 I will first test it with my Beolab 1 (because lack of bass).

Greetings

Yes, some years ago I tested a Beolab 2 and was totally disappointed from the "boom-boom-sound". I hope Beolab 19 is better, especially in audio mode.

I have just asked a technician from B&O. He told me that B&O would recommend to select Beolab 3 (not 2!) if connecting BL 19 to BV 7. But an update would be available later for selecting the new Beolabs 17, 18 and 19 to older Beovisions.

Great - I had not expected that.

They have a lot to do in Struer!

I often wonder how these few (there aren't that many) guys can manage everything.

B&O setups are very complicated - every software change has to be tested in a lot of constellations before they are released

I have decided to wait testing Beolab 19 until an update is available for my BV 7.

Hi  Raeuber !

Latest software for your BeoVision 7-40 MK VI : is Build 1112 .

But it is no correction about beolab 17 18 19 in it. Only soft fix.

Hi talisman,

that is correct and I have Build 1112 installed for more than one year. Keith Saunders' list is not actual although it is from February 3.

Hi,

This is incorrect. You should select BeoLab 2.

The "BeoLab 3" recommendation originates from a typo in a rather large lookup table that was sent out. It was corrected very recently (a couple of days ago give or take...) and I don't know if the new version of the table has been distributed out to the dealers yet.

Also note that you should set the BL19 to "L+R" mode on its selector switch. If you do not do this, you will be 6 dB low on the output.

cheers
