PhilLondon has hit the nail on the head - where abroad?

In the EU, voltage is almost universally 220-203v and it will be OK if it's a UK spec BS9000.  It could still also be used in a 110v country with a step-down transformer.  This also assumes that it is already a 220v unit.  You need to be more specific.

Step-UP voltage converter if used here in North America, for example.

Quite right - I'm always getting that the wrong way round - 'voltage converter' is a better way of putting it!
