hello
i would like purchase a bs5 encore and keep my bs9000.
but i dont want connect the two by the aux entry.
it's a good idea to connect the 2 by cable POWERLINK/JR45 to this
and the output to BL8000
ant select a when i use CD and B when i use BS5 ?
I cant use a bosscom switcher because in the future there will be 3 input (1BS5 encore and 2 BS9000)
thank you

In a word, no. My suspicion is that its won't work - the text on the front of the switch indicates 10/100 and these ethernet speeds only use half the cores within an ethernet cable (ie two of the four pairs).
What is your reason for not wishing to use the aux in on the BS9000?
Also you mention not being able to use the bosscom switchr because it only has two inputs yet the above network switch also only has only two inputs?
Is it really your intention to have 2 BS9000s in the same room?
Give us a little more info on your proposed setup and we may be able to suggest a better solution.
Kind regards,
Martin.
hello martin,
i dont want use the aux entry because i dont want to put on in the same time two beosound . one beosound one function.
yes it's my intention to have 2 bs9000 in the same room (my wife say i'm crazy..) and BS5 more, the room is large.
I read than some RJ45 dont used the full cable it's for that i post here.
Do uou now how to recognise full wired rj45 switched ?
this one seems OK, they says 8 wire application : http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-PORT-3-Way-RJ45-AB-Manual-Switch-Box-CAT5E-CAT5-selector-Phone-NEW-/300673843051?pt=US_Network_Switches&hash=item46018ebf6b
my setup : 2 BEOSOUND 9000 ONE BEOSOUND 5 ENCORE connected to one pair of BL8000.
thank you and sorry for my poor english
Sorry for asking - but how are you going to control these three devices?
Just being curious.
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
hello,
why to be sorry ?
all advice is welcome
BEO4 with reduced range option.
i have actualy in this same room the BS9000 and one BS ouverture and the control work fine.
and my retailer say :Control of encore is with "n-muic" and "n-radio" button of the beo4.
I'm getting more and more curious!
What do you want to do with the two BS9000's, that you can't achieve with one
12 CD ready to play instead 6.
OK, It's not logic with the BS5 in the same room , but who on this website is logic ?
archie: 12 CD ready to play instead 6. OK, It's not logic with the BS5 in the same room , but who on this website is logic ?
1: why not just rip the 12 and more to the server that feeds the BS5E?
2: listen to your wife
listen my wife
this means driving "scenic renault" instead "BMW Z"
a piaggio scooter instead HD
NO WAY !
i'm thinking about this solution, but they are maybe a problem :
the signal come from BS 5 TO BEOLAB ok.
but after, the signal go from the BEOLAB to the output of the BS9000 no ?
i'm not sure it's good system.

Did someone call?
Personally, I would approach this in a different way......
Beolab speakers work best when connected to just one master product, in this case one of the Beosound 9000s would be a good choice (possibly the one nearest to the speakers?) Then the other 9000 can be Masterlinked to this and set to A.Option 4 (if I remember correctly) to allow either 9000 to be selected by adding "LINK" to each command to select the "remote" 9000 unit.
You can then link the Encore via the Aux socket of the "master" 9000.
If you can please post a diagram of the room/house layout, I will be pleased to give further suggestions.
Kind regards, Steve.

Hi archie,
I'm also very intrigued by this setup, I like the idea of having 12 CDs and internet radio all ready to play! As a note for anyone reading this thread in the future, I must stress that normal audio switching units should not be placed inline between a pre-amp (ie. B&O system or TV) and active speakers, as these switch boxes do not have damped connections so they will often caused loud pops and bangs to be heard through the speakers when changing inputs.
In this situation, the game plan should always be to decide on a "master" product that will be used out of preference and connect the speakers to this device. Masterlink is perfect for adding a second Beosound 9000 in Option 4 (simply press "LINK CD" to play the second Beosound 9000 or "CD" to play the main Beosound 9000 - simple!)
My own personal preference here would be to go for a full Beosound 5/Beomaster 5 instead of an Encore, giving you access to N/MUSIC and N.RADIO via Masterlink, preventing any need to use an A.AUX connection. This should give you a very flexible and simple system to use, which will also be visually stunning (especially if you wall-mount both 9000s side by side!)
I can (of course!) help with any cables you need to get everything working - please post some pictures once you get it all up and running....
King regards, Steve.
(sorry for duplicate post!)
in 2014 the masterlink is still alive,
the solution with master 5 is not OK with the WAF..(one box more) and money too, the price is double than encore, too much for what i need
i'm gonna study the ML solution.
thank you.
