Hello,
I recently bought an old BeoSound 2300 and it has a problem with the doors getting stuck ~50% in on close. It usually opens 100% but not always. I have tried cleaning up the "rail" that is moving the glass but to no help. Also greased it with WD50. After taking the BS2300 apart and looking at the drive belt I can see that it has a few cracks in the rubber. I guess this makes it harder to pull the glass doors. My question is: Can I get a new drive belt or do I need to leave it for service? It should be easily replaced for cheap if I could do it myself.
Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2, BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century, BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i, BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40, BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)
Hello Michael,
Its the same belt for Beocenter 2300/2500 and Beosound Ouverture, 3000 and 3200 so it should be available from B&O. Its a little tricky to change it though.
//Bo.A long list...

Hi Bo,And thanks! Thats good to hear. I´m quite sure this is the thing that is the problem. It could perhaps be the thin metal strings but I find it hard to believe they are broken since I can hear the engine slipping on the belt. Do you know how to proceed in ordering it? I have talked with a service company in Skåne but they only buy things when they serve things themselves. I suppose I can't order it from B&O as a private citizen? Thanks for your help!/Michael

I've been buying spares from AV-Link (http://www.av-link.se/) in Västra Frölunda a couple of times. There are also one in Ängelholm and one in Lund who I've been in contact with on occasion, which do service on B&O, you might try one of them.

Perfect! I live close to ängelholm but the B&O there has closed down unfortunately. Perhaps there is a service firma still there? I have also talked with RT service in Lund (Im often in Lund) but I think they want to service the units themselves. But I´ll look both with AV-Link and RT service. I guess a rubber band wouldnt be too expensive. Thanks BO!
UPDATE!
I got a new drive belt yesterday. Installed it in the evening, it was quite a "messy" job. Lots of things to remove. After rehanging the wire system and assembling everything together it actually works! The doors now open and close without any problem. It took me about 1.5 hours to do it all from ground up and it was my first try. Thanks for all advice!
Well done!
Thanks!
