I have unpacked my beosound 9000 after moving. Before it was hanging on a wall now, its lying flat on a table. The first problem was that the CD slide was not going smoothly and the system shut itself off. I figured that this might have to do with the different position and wanted to adjust the spring suspension mechanism. So I removed the steel plate from the back, opened the two caps where there should be the adjustment screws, but there is nothing in there. Its simply two holes through which I can look right through to the first CD. Is it possible that some models dont have this mechanism? Or in different places?

Ha! I've 'been there'. Just move the CD arm to the first CD position. Then you'll see the adjustments.
These adjustments are actually made on the bottom of the sledge itself.
So therefore it has to be on the first position.
Okay I read in another thread, that the cd slide has to be in position 1. I changed the spring suspension according to the manual on position d). However the slide is still making clicking sounds when sliding over the space between two cd slots. When it has arrived on the desired position it says cleaning required. On top of it the reaction time until the slide starts moving is awfully slow.
I did all the cleaning as suggested here in the forum but it doesnt seem to help.
Do you think the slide is broken/ out of position? Is there more cleaning that can be done besides the obvious cleaning of the surfaces?

The cleaning requirement has to do with the fingerprotection. Nothing more.
At the bottom of the sledge the rocker arm is often bend and causes clicking noises by touching the cd's
But I assume that the BS9000 has been accomodated to the environment? Temperature etc? A good cleaning could be nessesary at the bottom of the sledge.
I just noticed that when the glass door is closed, it is lying on the cd slide. When it then starts to move, the slide cannot even move to the next position and the system shuts itself off.
I guess even in a flat position the glass door should have a some space to the slide and be - b&o style absolutely parallel to the system itself? Does this indicate the glass door has received too much pressure during the move and might be worn out?
Yep, it should slide to the next position.
By taking out the controlpanel and taking off (sliding) the aluminium panel, you'll find 2 small holes behind the hinges.
With small allen keys, you can adjust the glass door. Be carefull with mk1 versions. By screwing up or down the screws you can cause some tension between the hinges and glued parts on the glass door. To much tension can cause to loose the metal parts on the glas doors.
You don't have to take out the controlpanel. The small hole is next to it.
I just tried holding it up in the vertically position, then the slide works fine...
Strange regarding the cleaning, the two glass/ plastic for the finger protection really clean.
In vertical position the weight of the glass door doesn't infuence the height of it. In horizontal position it can.
Drag a dustcloth thru the channel in the middle as well.

The weight of the sledge itself seems to be too much, because even when I hold the door up a little the sledge still makes clicking sounds.
Another thing I noticed is that the cd slot number indicated in the display is sometimes wrong. For example, when I press the button for CD1 it goes there, but then later says CD2 in the display. Any idea why this could be?
Btw. I didnt have the original B&O plastic tool for the spring suspension and used a screw driver instead. Just to make sure - is turning the screws in the required direction enough, or does the plastic tool also turn something in the inside? I am wondering if this might be connected to the clicking of the sledge, because it seems to be a millimeter to low still...
