Hi.
Sometimes it doesn't take much to confuse, but hoping you could help.
With the BLT1, does this essentially mean:
> I can plug my TV in to the white box via the Optical audio
> Plug a receiver in to each of my BL3s
> And essentially use my BL3s with my TV (Sony)
OR
Does it still require some sort of receiver?
That's why I'm confused, because if i did a receiver, I could still essentially use a PL to RCA cable in a receiver.
I don't have a receiver and was hoping to avoid that route.

Theres no volume control in the BLT1.
That means all the inputs on BLT1, has be volume regulated by something else then the BLT1.
The BLT 1 has:
-PowerLink Inputs.
-Optical input.
-Stereo RCA line input.
If the Sony tv has a volume regulated optical output you could use that, but since it probably doesn't (I have never seen a Sony TV with that spec.).
You need to have a stereo (preout/Headphone) analog output. that can be connected to the BLT 1's Stereo RCA line input..
Copy/paste from sony user guide (model X900):
Connect with an audio cable or headphones. You can listen to TV sound through
your stereo system or headphones.
To set the sound output for headphones or an external audio system, press the
HOME button, then select [Settings] → [Sound] → [Headphone/Audio Out].
When you set [Audio Out] in [Headphone/Audio Out], select [Fixed] or
[Variable], press the HOME button, then select [Settings] → [Sound] →
[Audio Out].

The answer: Yes you can connect BLT 1 with a 3rd party TV if it has a headphone output (volume regulated stereo output), without a receiver, preamp or surround sound processor.
But if you have an idea about surround sound with the BLT1, I would suggest you buy a BeoSystem 4 (4600USD) or a 3rd party surround sound processor (price 1000USD).

That sounds great. Would limit me to stereo though, right? Sony, Samsung et al would not have a dolby receiver and I assume the transmitter would not play this role?

Now you have me confused. I have tried to connect my Samsung TV to the Transmetter 1 and using the TV remote to control the volukme
- no luck. I was told that Samsung's external speakers are " non variable".
I ended up buying a pre - amp and running all the connections through the pre amp and then on to the transmitter.
Please clarify

Is the RCV3000 only working for LG, Sony ans Samsung? What happens with Loewe, Metz? Exists a list of supported TV?
And a last question: Wgats the price?

I have problems because my Sony TV works in background so keeping on both the BL Transmitter and BL18s.
I bought an optical to RCA converter but the question is how lon speakers will stay on before turning off after the TV through the RCA is off?

15' according to the doc:
Lit when switching Off either via Power Link from the source product or when the signal is no longer present (i.e. silence in 15 minutes)
