My Beovision 7 / Beo6 was just set up with PUC for the new PVR STB, a Strong SRT 8965. The simplest functions work intuitively. Some functions reveal their existence after a little guesswork, like EXIT by maintaining the BACK button pressed. Other functions remain a mystery, like the LIB button to manage recordings and EXTRA button to enter internet, on the Strong's original remote control.
My question is: Are the PUC mappings documented somewhere? In particular, it would be nice to nice to know my own Strong SRT 8965.
Yes they are - every dealer is supposed to hand out the info (of the PUC installed).
Normally the functions are show at the left screen side when pressing 'Menu'.
Do not expect that every function of the original remote can be made via the Beo4.
I don't know if exactly your Strong model is listed (and installed).
Often the codes from a slightly different model can be used - with slightly different functions avaiable.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Thank you, this is what I hoped for. Now, my remote control is Beo6, not Beo4, but I suppose the dealer will be able to document the functionality. Would be nice to be able to just download it, though.

I hadn't realized that there were some "hidden" PUC commands using combinations of the "GO" button. Perhaps the "pause" command for the generic Samsung blu-ray puc that I could never find was once such combination?
Also, have the PUC commands for controlling some non-b&o tvs added a command to change the hdmi input? That would be very useful when switching to a 3D source when using the older BeoSystem 3 that doesn't support 3D. Or do all of the non-b&o tv PUCs only have the on/off command?
DMacri:This doesn't seem to match the menu on my Avant US
That is because your AVANT does not have a PUC, it has STB-C see HERE for more information.
The PUC on newer BeoVisions can be updated by the dealer. The STB-C is a physical chip and can only be upgraded by changing the chip.
