Hi Folks - guess what this mad Irishman has just bought himself a 5500 system amp/tuner and Master Control panel the CD4500 and Cassette 3300 with the system and everything is working superbly (touch wood) - used a Stanton turntable meantime through phonos and again not a problem - looking to find suitable B & O turntable, maybe will find 5500 sometime soon.

The sound is brilliant and the Master Control Panel operates everything without a glitch - even this post-60 year old technophobe was able to read and digest the Master Control Panel Instruction Booklet without any problem, even to setting the clock time and day!!  Sitting in the armchair with the Master Control Panel on the table beside the large glass of Gin and Tonic (well I had to praise myself in getting everything working first go off, doesn't one!!) and listening to Classic FM.

In effect I now am the proud owner of 3 B & O systems, Beocenter 2200, Becenter 4000 and now this system - Oh happy days.   Living room, drawing room and dining room all are equipped with a separate system.  A member kindly mentioned to me when I first joined this forum that people tend to acquire, unbeknown, that they get the BEOVIRUS.  I have definitely caught it and delighted to have done so.

Oh dear, David, I did warn you!

I was 60 when I was first diagnosed with the Beovirus, although I had initially contracted it in 1971 but it was under control then - only one system in the house at any one time!

By the way, I would be very wary of posting your personal details in a thread.

Hi Professor!

Ah yes the Beovirus. A tough one, this. And beware, this forum is like a tropical country full of marshes.

The good lady wives of ours are affected too, and you have to be very careful here too.

I agree with Cleve, erase the personal details, unless they are fake!

Cleve - thanks I have erased my personal details as recommended.  Yes, you did warn me, but how could I not buy another system when (luckily) the other two I have are so good.

Best wishes, David

Thanks for this - I have removed all personal data as mentioned.  Wives - mine is in shock!!!  Mind you in saying this, the television is rarely on and when our cleaning lady (our lady that does) had a whale of a time cleaning the rooms with all the tuners going - Radio 2 was blasting from every room.

Thanks again

Yeah, those were the days.  Now it's 6 for me.
