I guess no one can claim to have invented the wheel as part of a remote control - and in fact B&O used it in several combinations long ago already.

That we see different concepts, that seem to be very much alike, makes it clear that today there is a need for 'simple controlling' of our gear. People don't want a big and complicated remote control!

B&O has with their Essence-'knob' choosen the most 'simple' way of navigating - you really can't do much with it!

The Devialet-thing har more buttons on it and you use them to interact with the display on the device - I see that as another concept.

By the way - the Devialet company is making great things. If all the integrated B&O solutions did not exist, I would have a closer look at their gear.

Well, strictly speaking, Beep announced their 'knob' well before B&O: https://www.thisisbeep.com

But Beep still hasn't released their product, despite announcing it in 2013!

Devialet is a new French audiophile brand.Very nice designed products outside and inside with Avant Garde technologies.

Bang & Olufsen is a historical brand with more audiovisual experiences.

I prefer the Beo's integration products.
