Recently purchased a pre-owned pair of BeoLab 6000s andCrysal Acoustics BluDAC to wirelessly stream Spotify from my Mac Book Pro Retina. This is a review of my experience and discusses the benefits I found from including equalisation.

In summary I was able to make an excellent sounding, very attractive, minimalist streaming audio solution at a price comparable to a modern sound dock system.
I may update this review from time to time and in light of any comments I receive.

Excellent review of the BL's feeding directly from a DAC. If I can make another suggestion: Give Amarra or Audirvana+ as music player a go in this setup. Both players are using there own excellent audio engine and uses iTunes only as a playlist. You can try both players some 14 days for free.

Very nice, of course you are immune from the audionerds crucifying you for using equalization as you're using B&O, which they sneer at anyway. Try that on an audiophile approved set of kit and the pitchforks will come out...

Yes the system sounds, thats the restriction you have from the DAC you are using, but off course you can lower all beeps and bells from within your system settings on the mac. Or buy another DAC with his own driver to choose in the midi settings, but now we are going to be on a pricey tour and that was not the point. Both players I suggested are indeed only mac.

Took a quick look at Give Amarra but it seems to apply only to iTunes. Spotify is my preferred music source. Also discovered that AirFoil is a much easier way (though costs $25) to hijack the audio output stream from Spotify, apply equalisation, smack its bum and send it on its way to the bluetooth output stream!
