In the next days I will buy a pro-ject turntable and a little valve pre-amp to be connected to my loved beolab 8000. No more cd. Coming back to vinyl.

after years of digital sounds (i work in the digital world and I love it) I want to feel again that atmosphere of my youth. A Long Playng vinyl circle instead of bits.

I'm not sure about what I will do with my beloved beosound 2300... It has magic but i don't like cd...

what about your feeling about music (supports, magic, etc.) nowadays?

Do'nt buy a pro-ject. Buy a Beogram!

I second that.  Buy a good used Beogram and you will get much more pleasure from your vinyl.  Why not buy a matching B&O amp to go with it as the quality of these so called 'small valve amps' is dubious unless you spend a lot of money.

Yes, buy a Beogram and I would also say: buy a Beolab 608 valve amp. You will never regret!

I was also considering saying buy a 608 amp.  I have one connected to a Beogram 4004 and it is wonderful.  The highish price can be offputting as well as the fact you don't often see them for sale.

I suspect the OP would prefer newer equipment but I'm sure we can persuade them otherwise!

To give you an idea, this is my BG4004 connected to the 608 amp - the top small blue fronted amp.  One of the best B&O made.  And you can put phono, tape, radio, aux etc through it  As you can see, I run a Project digital tuner through mine too

I too had a recent analogue experience when last Christmas I was looking to buy a music dock for my son and ended up with a FatMan Mi Valve (pre amp only) & Cambridge SX60's.

The Jolly FatMan at Christmas

This little combination blew away my Pioneer AV system when it came to stereo music listening. In the end I ended up getting a pre-owned pair of BeoLab 6000's and Bluetooth DAC - it doesn't sound as quite good as my son's Christmas present but it's a hell of a lot better than the Pioneer / Boston Accoustic Soundware it replaced and it still fits in with my very digital lifestyle (software engineer so my mired in digits.

Hope you enjoy your vinyl - I am reliving my vinyl days through Spottily.

good to hear you are moving back to vinyl, did you partake in Record Day a few weeks ago ?

there is nothing better than the interaction of vinyl, pulling out the LP from its sleeve, checking and cleaning before play, setting up the deck, sitting back and enjoying the music, reading the sleeve notes and marvelling at the album artwork.

before anyone jumps on me I also have my all my music in the cloud as well as MP3 format but ....

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.

Very nice setup, Dave.

I like your Grand Prix Moderne 608/609 and also the BM4400 on the top of BM3000. Very well matched wit the furniture.
