Mates

I have an ML/NL converter on the wires network. I also have a beosound 5 and 2 v1 televisions on this wires network.

My converter crashed and I replaces it with a new one.

Now, the converter finds the v1s no problem, but will not find the beosound 5. As I use the CD and A.Aux function throughout the home, this is quite a pita.

Anyone had this problem, where the converter will not locate a bs5?

Any suggestions? I've removed the network connection from the bs5 and reconnected, the bs5 has a static IP as do the other items.

I use an unmanaged switch that I have unplugged and restarted, I have also moved the port that the bs5 uses in the switch.

All of these efforts have failed. Any suggestions out there?

Thanks!

Did you setup the first one yourself? And this?

It needs configuration, source mapping etc - was that done with the second one?

I did indeed set up the first one myself.

The issue is that the nl converter won't find the the bs5. I did all is those mappings, etc. However, I can't even get it to find the bs5 to map it to.

Further thoughts?

I confess that I do not have a BS5 but afaik it's not a NL product but a ML product. So the BS5 being connected to unmanaged switch with static IP et al is irrelevant in this conversation... Do you have the BS5 ML port connected to you NL/ML convertor's ML port? If not you'll never see the BS5 on any configuration screen (If BS5 was NL you wouldn't need the convertor in the first place)

Previously, the bs5 showed up on the converter NL management page.

I have all of the ML connected through various ML junction boxes and that connects to the converter.

I realize it's not an NL product but previously it showed up.

I don't know. I'll call BeoCare tomorrow.

I had named both converters "ML Network" and the v1 televisions had not 'erased' the previous

one apparently.  Under the Connect To section it showed connected to "ML Network" but there was a second "ML Network" option.  The second one was the correct Converter.  I pointed the v1 to correct converter and it took care of itself.

Much simpler issue than I originally presented.

and for the record, the BS5 never showed up in the NL converter, it does however, work correctly again!
