Hi, I have been looking for a good example of one of these for about 6 months. This one looks promising, my only concern is potential damage in transit (if I were to pick up it would be a 500 mile round trip) and am also interested in people’s opinions on a fair price?

Many thanks,
Miles
As the seller has the original box, transport damage should not be an issue - IF he remembers to take off the platter and tighten the transport-screws. And dismantle the pickup and fix the tonearm.
What is a fair price is difficult to say. If the Beocenter is fully functional and the pickup is ok, then 150 -200£ will be ok, i guess.
A 500 mile round trip is nothing! I once made a 22 hour non-stop round trip to Denmark to collect 32 B&O pieces a few years ago.
For safety of mind, collection would be preferred. However, as it has the original box and inserts. If as Steffen wrote, iyou ask the seller to remove the platter (there should be a space for it in the packaging), secure the tonearm, rmove the cartridge (cover down) and fastens the transit screws I don't see why this shouldn't be shipped _ the only downside is some shippers ignore 'fragile' stickers and are awful handling stuff like this, especially as it is very heavy. B&O shipped them in these boxes but then the electronics and solder joints were new. It's possible that during rough transport, LED's may fail or solder joints will crack.
If it's really what you want - and it does look in very good condition, with box and remote (plus cartridge), take a day out and make a day of it.
For the condition and everything with it, it seems a fair price at the moment.
Dave.
Best would be to pack the original box in an even bigger second box (Babuschkas, Matroschkas style)...
