I have a Beomaster 5500 that needs some work.  The right channel of speakers 1 is out, the CD input and the tape input aren't working.

Does anyone have any recommendations for someplace I can get the unit serviced?  Years ago I sent a CD-X to a guy in Texas who worked magic, but I can't find his contact info.

It would be really great if I could find someone in the Pittsburgh or Baltimore area, but I am willing to ship the unit if I have to.

You probably mean Anthony Garza - BeoMuse.  He's dropped out of sight.   I'm not aware of what might be in your area, but I ship my items to Atlantic Systems in Hanover MA even tho there are repair shops here in NY.   Atlantic is the authorized repair center for the northeast.  Plenty of experience and the repair cost is reasonable.   Keep in mind that the repair and r/t shipping cost will probably exceed the cost to purchase a repacement on eBay and selling your BM as a parts unit.   Actually, you could use the Aux DIN input on the receiver for your CD player and the Tape 2 RCA inputs for your tape deck (you'd need a DIN-->RCA adapter).  Plug the speakers into the 2nd pair of outputs and you have an imperfect, tho workable solution.

Yes, BeoMuse sounds right.  That guy was an artist!  He worked magic on my CD-X.

What you suggest is pretty much what I am doing, but with the CD or tape in AUX I lose the DataLink functions, which is sad.
