Hi there:-)

I´m experiencing a rather  significant difference in sound level when switching between FM and PH, FM being significant louder than PH. I guess this issues stems from the fact that FM-sources have increased in level over the years and also that my newly refurbished MMC-3 has a slightly lower output than prior to its restoration.

I wonder where in the circuitry I could alter the levels with the best result, e.g. attenuate FM a bit and corresponding increase the gain on the phono source.

My own idea is to alter the values of the resistors prior to the source select stage. I am considering raising the value of R106/R206 in order to attenuate FM and lowering the value of R108/R208 in order to increase the phono gain.

Any thoughts?

 Best regards Thomas

Hi Thomas,

No need to do that, output levels are adjustable at the output of the stereo decoder.

Adjust 8R102 and 8R202.
