As per title i brought a pair of 17s today, since hearing them in my last demo i haven't been able to stop thinking about them. I just think that they sound amazing with superb clarity, depth, detail and a strong deep bass.

I don't know how B&O do it?? Making a speaker that size to be able to push out a sound that big...

I also have to give a big thank you to the staff at bang-olufsen Knightsbridge who were very accommodating, polite not pushy and let me listen to the speakers for as long as i wanted and at volume levels i usually don't listen to at home and i really can't recommend them enough.

I think i will receive them in June and can't wait. This will be my first bang-olufsen speaker and to say I'm excited would be an understatement.

I really dislike the cracked frosted ice look so i went with the plain white speaker grille with the aim to change it to black when my wallet recuperates.

On the last demo I got from BL 18 and BL 17 I've been impressed by the BL 17 only.

How can a relativly small speaker play so loud without distortion.

They are amazingly good for the price.

I feel they are BL 4000 on steroids.

Personnally they didn't impress me at all, like the bl4000 they have too much power for their size.

They sound like a boombox.

I never see a much directiv speaker than these.

The bl3 don't have this issue and are far more impressiv.

That's just my opinion:)

4 beolab 5,  beolab 9, beolab 10, beolab 5000, beolab 8000 mk2, beolab 6002, beolab 3500, beovision 7 55 mk2,  2 beovision 11 46 mk4, beotime, beosound ouverture, beosound essence, beoplay A8, beomaster 900 RG de luxe and the collection continues...

Well that's the joy of people having an opinion... for my needs the beolab 17 fit and suit my requirements, I wanted a speaker that had enough bass to negate the need of a subwoofer the beolab 17 has that.

And although the bl3s have a wider dispersion of sound due to the ALT tweeter I feel that there a little limited in the bass for my liking although I'm not disputing the quality of there sound they are amazing.

I'm very happy with my purchase and i know they will reward me with the sound quality that impressed me enough to buy them.

According to your requirements, you probably have made the right choice.

Maybe with good placement, they will disappear in your interior.

Enjoy :)

Congratulations on your purchase! It is a beautifully crafted piece of aluminum! Which did you get? The White or Black endcap?

I heard them recently as well and I was impressed -- a next gen, more capable BL4000. But I'd say the 4000s were the best value for the money speaker B&O ever made. With the price of a pair of 17s where it is, I don't know if that's the case, even though the sound is amazing.

Thank you, they will have the plain white end caps i would preferably like the black end caps and matching black grilles but that will be quite a while before i can get those.

When i receive them a mini review is definitely on the cards, with pics when I figure out how to attach them. Does anybody else on here own a pair of beolab 17s and if so are they satisfied with them?

If the bl 17 was good enough I will have a chance to buy bl3 at a real bargain price. I am afraid I won't :(

Picked up my beolab 17s today and they sound even better than when I demoed them in store, and even then they sounded good.

Boy do these speakers rock, good clarity and bass from minimal volume. To say I'm happy is an understatement these are my first b&0 speakers and i feel really privileged to finally own a pair.

They look very well proportioned in your room, and the frets and stand compliment each other very nicely.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

Thank you beonic man, the sound they produce is astonishing, clean clear sharp in a good way with really good bass.

I watched the Pixar movie up for the first time yesterday. And there was a part in the movie where the old man is floating away in his house into a thunder storm and when the thunder strikes the bass that came out of the speakers was so impressive.

I was shocked at how deep the bass was!!! I can definitely say that i won't be changing these speakers for anything else unless i was lucky enough to own a set of beolab 20s.

one can dream eh... But on a serious note I've been re listening to all my music and the lab17s seem to give it a new lease of life, I really can't complain everything is so clear almost 3-dimensional separation of instruments is incredible and they seem to have a lot of power.

even watching normal tv is a joy, i can hear everything so cleanly without having to turn up the volume. I'm truly a satisfied customer Geoff Martin and his team really know how to make a speaker and i applaud them for there skills.
