Once again... are all these your own private items from your own home Mark?

This Forum, entitled "BeoWorld Private Sales" is just that - it's not a portal for running a business.

If I'm wrong, please accept my apologies.

Lee

Where do you draw the line and what if Mark says it's private?

I draw the line at someone using the BeoWorld Private Sales section as a place of business Leslie.  Same goes for anyone else.

If the section gets abused, I'll just pull it - then everyone loses out thanks to the minority.

If someone wants to deal in pre-owned B&O, go for it.  Don't dabble.  Set up your own business, get some premises to work from, create a website, pay VAT and Tax - and I wish you all the very best, genuinely.

In the meantime, for anyone thinking of doing so in the future, please don't use BeoWorld as a market place.  This particular section is for genuine hobbyists and private sellers.  I'll play "Mr Clueless Nice Guy who can't really see what's going on" on this occasion, but next time I'll suspend the advert first and ask questions later.

Many thanks

Lee

I wouldn't have thought many of us have 7 Beovisions available for sale unless we were trying to make a business out of it!  Yes, I have more than 7 Beovisions at home as a collector and fan of B&O but looking at the list available here, I wouldn't have thought they are from a 'collection' and I think Lee is being very generous here.

Genuine resellers have to have premises, pay VAT and tax as Lee quite rightly says.  As someone who invests a massive amount of time as well as money of his own (and Lifestyle AV's) on this site for the benefit of us all, I don't see why Lee should be undercut or lose out as an honest reseller to someone who is making extra income on the side.  This is a general statement/opinion and not necessarily directed towards the OP.

I think Lee can draw the line wherever he likes on this issue.  The proper marketplace for potential business sellers is eBay, Marktplatz etc or a site of their own, not in the 'personal/private sales' section here.

Dave.

I'm with Lee on this.

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.

These are the rules right?

Selling guidelines, links & dealers.

This section of the forum is intended as an area for Beoworld members to sell & trade their own personal equipment and not as a free market place for dealers. However if no one replies within a reasonable time then stating the item has now been listed on ebay would be considered acceptable behaviour (but is still allowed only at the discretion of the moderating team). Most regular users of Beoworld are aware of what is/isn't considered allowable but any member of the moderating team can be contacted if you have any doubts and will be more than happy to offer help & advice.

However sellers & dealers simply posting links to items listed on ebay or other internet sales sites will not be allowed and deleted. This also applies to anyone offering any services without prior consent from the moderating team.
