Hi I've just bought a very nice beocenter 7000, the aluminium flap lifts very slowly I have to lift it by hand really. Is this an easy fix or shall I leave well alone? Cheers Phil.

You can help it up with your hand, nice and easy, that'll be alright but whatever you do, don't force it up or down, the plasticdamper and hinge will break easily !You can take the lid mech. apart, clean it a bit and put it back together but it's the amount and consistenceof the kilopoise grease used for the damper together with the springs force, that determines the "timing".It can be difficult to get right, even when all new parts were available.
Nice Beocenter anyways, don't let the collector bug bite you...
