I was searching the net and came across your site, it looks to be very helpful and informative, I hope you can help me.
After 10 years in storage I'm trying to get my Beocenter 9500 working. Prior to storage it used to work well!
Now everything still works except the CD.
When I load a CD the door closes and shortly after that there are a few clicking noises (relay?) and the 9500 shuts down. If I open the door you can see the CD spinning down.
Any ideas?
Could this be caused by the capacitor problem these players have?
If so, is Dillen still selling the repair kits?

Hello and Welcome,
I had problem with CD in BC9500, it could not read / recognize the CD, and fix was to replace the capacitor C2103. Here is the link to that discussion (check 2nd page). Do you have problem with all CD's or are some still playing OK?

I might have some more problems. I am now unfamiliar with the units operation, it's been a long time.
It appears the CD door mechanism is not working correctly.
To play a tape; I touch the tape "button" the panel lights up and the tape door opens, ready to load. You then insert a tape, press the load tape button and the door closes. Ready to play, works fine.
However to play a CD; I touch the CD "button" the panel lights up but the door doesn't open. Shortly after a few clicks are heard then the whole unit shuts down, all in less than 10 secs.
What I was doing before in my previous post was manually opening the CD door; Touch the CD button the panel lights up, then touch the load CD button and the door opens, ready to load! Insert a CD and press the load CD button the door closes followed by a few clicks and the unit shuts down.
With or without CD's I have the problem of it shutting down.
Prior to going into storage the unit was serviced this included replacing the cords on both door mechanisms.
I can't take it back after 10 years, he might have retired like me!!!
Any thoughts?

So why does the 9500 shutdown?

It's probably shutting down because the CD player is not finding focus. This is typical of the C2103 fault.
I suggest that you search the old archived general forum or workbench forum for "C2103" and you will find quite a bit of helpful information.

As far as I can see, there are few images in that thread simply because there weren't many to begin with.
Images are only missing from the archive if they had been inserted from the user's media library. This is because the old forum software (stupidly) used absolute URLs ( http://forum.beoworld...) and so the links are now broken because they should point to ( http://archivedforum.beoworld...).
These can be fixed per thread per request, or in case you are using Firefox, install a script I wrote for this particular purpose:
It will also fix links to other threads in the archives. But it can't add pictures to the aforementioned thread, because they are all there already.
EDIT: after posting, I noticed that there was a problem if the original image had come from a library folder that contained whitespace in the name (just don't do that!). The script version online now (1.0.10) works better, but still has a few problem cases I'll try and investigate later when I have more spare time.

Good to hear it helps... I'm afraid I was vewy, vewy dwunk at the time I originally wrote it
I think at least your BM 901 thread had a couple of pics that still didn't work and I don't quite understand why, perhaps some other oddity in the complete file path.
I bought the capacitor kit and replaced the 6 capacitors including C2103. The problem remains.
Prior to the unit shutting down/standby? a relay situated between the CD mechanism and power transformer starts clicking about 2 or 3 times. On the last click the unit turns off.

Problem fixed?? but not solved.
Determined to get to where the problem was , I loaded up a CD and waited to note how many clicks exactly occurred to when the CD unit shutdown, so I could get a handle on this problem.
The CD loaded and nothing happened, it sat there with all the lights on ready to go, I pressed track 1 on the board and it started to play!!
And its continued to play all the CD's I've put in.
The only thing I have done is gently clean/wobble (it did wobble) the laser lens and I thought I had all ready done that. Not sure if that should be done.
I'll carefully screw it all back together and cross my fingers.
