Greetings, this is my first post here. I have both a 4002-5503 and a 4004-5526. Other than the massive platter weight difference they seem to be VERY close to the same. Does the A/C motor with the ultra heavy platter offer any performance advantage, or the DC motor and the lighter (2) piece platter? Just curious about this.
Both decks came in a myriad of slightly different versions, Beogram 4002 in particular, and the 4002 actually came with both platter types.I could never tell the decks and versions apart soundwise, I must admit.

Thanks for the reply. The Specs appear to be the same on paper between the two. That heavy platter must be filled with
depleted Uranium as heavy as it is.

To some people, the heavier platter as from the Beogram 4000 and the DC motor makes a significant difference. I would be one of those people, cherish your early 4002!
