Sorry if I missed the answer in another post but are the 85" Avant release date and price already known ?
If B&O offered a small increase of price, I assume it'd be a big hit.
Cheers, Marc.
I'd expect it some time this fall - my guess is september.
There is no official date yet.
No idea about the price.

It's not happening September now, it's delayed until November.
Not sure why it's been pushed back. Stand issues with the larger screen, perhaps?
I am not convinced TVs at this size are going to be 'big' (pun intended!) sellers. Unless you have a separate cinema room in your home - and I know some do - how else are you going to accommodate, and make work aesthetically, a 75" TV? Let alone an 85" one!
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.
4k needs a screen of this size before it adequately improves over 1080p , ie 85" plus
Have fun with a cinema in your front room, lol
My dealer advised me yesterday that 85 will arrive in August and the 75 will follow it.

In the USA, the recommended retail price is $7,995. I'd say $10,000 / $11,000 for a 85" would be a great deal.
Indeed, I intend to have a specific cinema room without using a video projector (I have a BV 7-40nwhich could handle it). When the TV is fixed on the wall, it doesn't look so large. On the floor stand, I agree with you.
I agree that would be a great deal
I anticipate the panel costs twice your thoughts here, I expect the 85 to be $25k plus
22k what ?
Pound, Euro, Dollar ??
I'd actually really like one. It's the perfect upgrade from a BV 4-65.
Bv7Mk3 is from the uk - £ of course then.

The Samsung 85" retails at £30,000 in the UK. The chances of B&O releasing an 85" using the 85" Samsung panel, for £8000 ($10K), borders on the impossible :)
Bv7Mk3:Ooops sorry.. The Avant 85 is £22,000 uk pounds!
How would it be £13K cheaper than a Samsung 85" using the same panel? Where did you get £22K from?

vlohjr1: Even I have been quoted by dealer £25k

I think they are guessing and/or scaling prices up from the 55". A non-local dealer told me that the 75" would be £15K, as an example, when the 55" Avant was announced. I'm confident that was an assumption, based on scaling up pricing.
Also, my local dealer told me the 85" has now been pushed back from late Summer to end of the year, only yesterday. I think there's a lot of guesswork going on at the moment. They don't really have the info.
I'd be very surprised - and very delighted - if B&O could bring their 85" to the market, far cheaper than, say, Samsung, using the same panel!
Seems like most people are expecting some quite unreallistic prices for the 85" version.
Please remember that the 85" screen is almost 2,5 times larger than the 55"!
A lot of the cost of a B&O is the cost of materials and production, and when the screen increases by a factor of 2,5 so will the material prices. The mark-up for B&O will properly stay the same procentage wise. So expect at least twice the price of the 55".
Beovision Eclipse gen2 (GX) w/ floorstand, Beolab 14.2, 4 speaker Shape and ATV4/Chromecast.
Beoplay A9mk4 GVA, Beosound 1 GVA, H2, H3, H8, E6, Beoplay EQ
I'd say the price policy is rather confusing.
In my understanding, the new Avant should have been the "affordable" model and I was expecting (hoping) a much cheaper price than $22,000 for the 85".
The recommended retail price is $7995 (5900 euros) to get a 55" in the USA, which seems very attractive to B&O fans. I can't figure out how people will react. If I had knew, I wouldn't have ordered a BV 11-55 last November.
Furthermore, the current offer running for the new speakers (-20% on Beolab 17, 18, 19 and 20) is hardly understandable and frustrating if you bought some recently. I don't understand the offer received that morning either:
Avant 55" launch price in France is 8900 euros / $12,000 (special offer for the world cup). Why is there a $4,000 difference?
Marco don't feel saddened. I'm of the opinion that the Avant and BV11 are targeted at a very different market.
The Avant is just another expensive television with not really much design to its 'me too' style of frame whereas the BV11 and former 10,9 and 5 are all based on Mark Rothko paintings and should really be seen as art. I guess they are aimed at people like me who literally choke at the thought of 55" and bigger TVs.
I have been advised that the 85" on motor floor stand will be circa £25k...

Different markets, volumes and economics. The same applies to European cars which costs less (sometimes much less) in the US than in Europe. Compare price lists for BMW for example...
I saw the Avant 85" at my dealer yesterday.
Truly an impressive piece.
All in all 200 kg with the floorstand. It was really majestic when it started to move on the floor plate. Not many livingrooms will be able to cater for such a TV. The loudspeakers really looked tiny under the huge screen, so I thing the moving speakers hardly will be noticed.
Had no time to listen to the sound unfortunately. I would imagine that B&O have used the greater volume they have to play with in the TV body it self.

I saw it at Collins Street too Bill. I nearly wet myself. It's huge!
Next to a 85" the 55" looks pretty tiny!
You need a big room for this tv.
BillC: ....whether it supports UHD @60fps and HDCP 2.2? I'm afraid the sales person there had no idea. I'm not sure if B&O will offer upgrade kits later to retro fit it if it currently doesn't - would be nice gesture especially for the first few customers .
The support for 60fps/HDCP2.2/HDMI2.0 comes with a software update 'later this year' (so they say) - no need for any 'upgrade kit' for this.
Just keep on using the tv (if you 'mind to buy it') - it's an automatic update, that most people probably won't notice at all.
It will be there soon enough for the coming streaming boxes (e.g. the UHD-box from Philips), that may benefit from it.
