My parents had more B&O tv's and radios too.
But that was a long time ago.
They very rather common in Denmark and not considered as something special.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
I was the first in either branches of our families.
I get a "lot of stick" from all sides for my passion - although after the visit to Struer in 2012 my wife has a far greater appreciation of B&O and its ethos.
I have cascaded an BM 5000, CD50 and 2 x CX100s to my eldest son's family.
The other sons are not yet asking such largess . . .
However my grandson gets to listen at his home, and watch at ours, and at 15 months he understands that the Beo4 is a magic wand

A couple of them actually.
My grandmother on dad's side had since new in 1979 a pair if Beovox s45-2 and a Beogram 2200 in matching oak. I am the current owner of it today.
My grandmother on mom's side had a Beolit something in black and also a Beomaster 2000 in rosewood which I can recall playing with as a kid. Where this ended up I have no idea of.
My parents had a pair of Beovox 1000's at some point and also a Beogram 1202 which I got at some point. I still have it in my collection.
This just makes me feel old!! I still think of my Avant as quite a modern TV!! We had a Beovision 3000SJ as our second colour TV - superb set.

Neither of my parents, nor my stepparents, have ever owned a proper stereo, much less a brand like B&O.
My kids prefer their NAD/Nakamichi system in their bedroom to their Beosystem 1900 in their homework room. But I'll keep working on them.

By me also, neither my parents, nor any family member have ever owned B&O. It started with me few years ago. I wanted to buy an old Puch bicycle from an old lady and came to home with bicycle as well as with nice Beomaster 2400. The love happened immediately
Now my home is full with vintage B&O. To make all that possible (without many complaints) a have had to bung my wife with something with remote control -> Beosystem 4500 connected to Beovision 7.
And I think my son is already infected. He got his first BEO for his 4th birthday and he is enjoying its sound very offten... His luck is very obvious I think...

It was my parents that started my interest for B&O.
In the early 60's they bought a Grand Prix Moderne receiver with speakers and a VF42 turntable. I remember - even though I was just 3-4 years old in the mid 60' - I thought that this was something special. I think it was around 1966 when they bought a B&O "Horisont deluxe" TV.
A few years later I was with my father in a local radio/tv shop. Back then B&O was found mixed among all other brands on the shelves. I remember seeing a Beomaster 900 K. I just thought it looked so good, compared to all the other rather boring looking receivers.
Years later, when I was 12-13 years old I bought my first turntable - a Beogram 1203. And the year after a Beomaster 901.
In the 70's though, my parents didn't want to pay that much for B&O - so their Grand Prix was replaced by an "Eltra". And the tv was replaced by a Grundig color tv.
However, as i grew older and got my own apartment and started earning more money, my audio systems were frequently replaced by newer B&O models. A 2400 system - then a 3300 system - replaced by a 4500 system in the early 90's. Later when I bought a house, I started collecting - buying second hand units.
Funny thing is, as when my parents Eltra receiver 'died' - they asked me to find them a cheap replacement for it. Offcourse I found a B&O for them...a used Beomaster 2400. And when one channel blew on the 2400 years later, I bought a BM 3000 for them.
My father died 4 years ago -but my mother still has the BM 3000, using it every day.
My 'everyday' systems today is a Beosystem 9500 in the living room -a Beosystem 4500 in the dining room - a Beosound 3000 in the bedroom and a BS Century in my home office. And then I have just made a little museum for the rest (as described in another thread) on first floor of my house.

I like that you say this Peter and always have a smile reading your posts. I have been absent from the forum for a while but always enjoyed them. What I love is that you really appreciate your B&O products, and I do too. I am sure you have been reading about my recent purchase of the BV9. Do you remember how much we both loved the BV5 and how I always got so close to buying one? Well now I have the BV9 and cannot begin to tell you the joy it brings... the whole overall package etc, on or off.
Back on topic. Like others, I too was the first person in the family to own B&O. It's interesting, but my brother can't stand the brand and while I have tried many times to explain to him the joys of ownership he just refuses to see it or even have a conversation with me about it. I have never understood how people can be so closed off from the outset without even taking the time to explore? Of course I am the complete opposite and love the history of B&O and admire and respect all their many achievements from incept.
When my Mum's Sony TV (which was a great set and lasted a while) eventually died I decided to buy her an Avant and she has loved it ever since. She got slightly confused with the Beo 4 and Sky remotes never quite knowing which ones to use but aside from that she loved the picture and often had the sound turned up quite high! Sadly she has now moved into a private care home as she has dementia. That means the TV will probably be sold on. Actually, we'll probably give it away to someone who would really appreciate it. I think the Avant was a very clever design at the time given how CRTs looked. It really broke barriers in terms of looking like it was a TV mounted against a wall of its own. Still very appealing aesthetically. I always find it hard to disregard B&O and could never throw anything away.
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

Like you I tend to treat the three stores as part of the same "franchise" and now that Tony Mc has retired, I tend to buy from any on depending upon where I am at the time
