Having had the beocom 6000 for numerous years I thought I would purchase a beocom 2 mk2.

I have been able to marry it up with the PSTN and all the information has been accepted in the phone.  However, when I dial out, there is a terrible crackling on the line, so much so that you can only faintly hear the dialling tone in the background.  There is no way I would be able to hold a conversation with the noise. Does anyone know if I've omitted to do something or how to get rid of the noise please?

Thanks a lot

Is your phone line through service that is strictly phone service or do you have a bundled service that includes internet and a router?

When my landline was separate from any internet or cable service, I had a very clear connection on my BeoCom 2. However, I recently agreed to have my phone service bundled with my cable and internet service, which required my BeoCom 2 base station to be connected to my router. Now, whenever I am actively using the internet, I have a crackly, poor phone connection on my BeoCom 2. However, if I am not generating any internet traffic, my phone connection is clear.

Im guessing you have a pstn line with the broadband piggy backed onto it. You might be hearing the high frequency of the dsl, if so use a dsl filter and lets know if it works.
