Beovision 7-55 or beovision 12-65

Upgrading from beovision 9 what would you choose ? Beovision 7-55 or beovision 12-65 ng

For elegance, and if you are used to a plasma picture then the 12-65. For everything else the 7-55, but make sure it's a Mk2 version. If you are using supplementary speakers then that relegates the sound of the 7-6 to a certain extent. Is it going to be wall mounted to free standing ?

its going to be free standing with my beolab 1s just can't decide which one to purchase.

Can you not find one to see it in the flesh? I'm going to be rather biased so I'll just say make up your own mind, but do so on personal taste.

I've worked by B&O (as installer in the weekend, vacancies and sometimes I've worked at the shop)and would not prefer the BV 7-55 ... in my career there were 5 Beovision 7-55's (bluray version) which had an defect LCD panel after a few weeks... This is also a known problem with the 7-40 MK V bluray version... offcourse maybe the latest models are good controlled by B&O but to be honest... I think you've more fun with a BV 12-65 (NG)

You could better choose the BV 12-65 (NG) .. A much more better picture and better looking than the 7-55...

Decided to keep my beovision 9 and purchased a new 11-55

The 12-65 is superb for everything, apart from support sport. It smoothed the grass more so than the 7-55. Ironically, the Avant's picture is closer to the 12-65 for this reason - it has the same fast-paced smoothing issue shared with the plasma.

But I love the 12-65. Massively regret not buying a wall-mounted version my dealer had for sale last year. Was under £10K! They are even cheaper these days, but floor-stand only. I can't find a wall-mounted pre-loved/ex-demo BV12-65.

11-55 is also a superb option. I'd go for this over an Avant, for now at least. And I own an Avant.

Most stores have got rid of their 12-65's, a while ago. They weren't popular. Can one be ordered? I'm not even sure.

I have the 12-65 and love it. Wasn't very impressed with the design at first, but needed to get a bigger screen for my new apartement.

I love plasma any day over the other LED-panels due to the superior black levels. I was hoping for the new Avant to show me that LED can perform as good, but I don't think it does

Still too much 'blue' backlit light for me.

I and I'm guessing most customers judging by the poor sales, never liked its picture or black levels. It would have been interesting to have seen the Avant using its frame and stand, as that was the only appealing bit for me.

I think the problem with the 12-65 was the price....more than 2X that of the 11-55. Having said that one of the B&O salesman mentioned to me that production stopped due to new EU power consumption regulations for TVs produced in the EU. As I recall the PQ on the TV was superb, a level above the 7-55 and 11-55 in my opinion.

Agree, it was too expensive! But I bought it anyway due to perfect size and picture quality. I also like the fact that BeoSystem is separated from the panel. Made my upgrade easy to BS4 when NG was released.

Monewise I've lost BIG time on this telly since I bought it at old retail price

...but then again - no other telly fits my needs so well. Still!

However, I'm really glad their pricing policy has been revised for their new products. Looking better and better for B&O

Not in the UK it wasn't. A BV11-55 on a stand was £10K, the BV12-65 was £13.5K. That was a good price for me.
