Hello Everyone, All of a sudden my Avant 32 DVD does not play DVD's. It plays them for a short period and then freezes and when I try to play them again the display only shoes "DVD <>" When I go into "Menu", "Setup", "00Go", "DVD", the screen shows the message: DVD region setup NOTE! DVD SOURCE SELECTED LOADER CLOSED NO DISC IN DRIVE ... and then there's nothing to setup or change (I see that message not matter whether there's a DVD in the drive or not) Has anyone got a idea on what I could do to fix this problem? I can still hear the motor spinning when trying to access a DVD Really appreciate anyones thoughts/ideas, not willing to part with my baby yet! Nigel

Unfortunately your DVD mechanism has died - it's a fairly common occurrence, sadly. The same thing happened to mine a year or two back and it basically comes down to two choices:
- Pay B&O £350 for a new one if it's still available.
- Buy a standalone DVD player and plug it into one of the SCART sockets.
I did the latter. It's a bit of a nuisance having three remote controls now but we'll be buying a new TV soon so I suppose I need to get used to it!
Mine died too, I bought a new Avant 32. It works well, since a year without problem. The DVD had never been used :).
