Hi guys, I picked up a Beomaster 6000 for free, and its in pretty good shape I was at a mid-century furniture store, and asked if he ever finds audio equip. He takes me to the back and says "I got this, not sure if it works, you can have it". Well, I felt compelled to buy a nice piece of furniture after that. I've wanted a B&O since seeing my friends Dads system back when I was an exchange student in Kalstad, Sweden. Anyways, it needs a new volume belt (which I've ordered), and a few of the leds come on only after its warmed up. Otherwise the radio sounds good and it even has the remote.
I have a old JVC turntable and a pre-amp that I've used between the turntable and another stereo.
I bought a 5 Pin DIN Plug to twin RCA connector, I plugged that into the preamp and the Phono slot on the back of the 6000, then the turntable to the the preamp - that don't sound right at all!
Then I plugged the 5 pin plug into the tape 1 slot, that sounds pretty good. So is that the best way to connect the turntable given my situation?
Thanks
Just connect the turntable direct to the phono input without the preamp in between.
//Bo.A long list...
Thanks for the answer. I apologize, I feel so dumb - I probably should have posted in another forum too. All my RCA ends are male, or I would have tried that combo. Off to the store I go. Happy Midsommar!
