That's it, after 6 months my rock solid BV11-46 MKIII is not rock solid anymore.

Since a few days, it´s making little crackling noise on the back after 10 minutes of use untill you switch it off.

I'm very sensitive to that because I had the same thing on the BV10 and hated it.

The difference here is that I "understood" the noise on BV10 (crackling when heating and cooling but not crackling between) while I don't on BV11 (crackling all the time - if the tv is on 2 hours it makes clicks during 2 hours).

After inspection it seems that the left part of the back of my tv is much warmer than the right part.

Never noticed that before but never really search also.

I have a family lunch today at my parent's and will check on there BV11-46 MKI if one side of the back is warmer than the other.

Called my tech yesterday that never had the case and send the information to B&O.

It's a shame because for me that tv is a keeper (maybe the last danish made) and I don't whant it oppened even once like they did on my BV10.

Will try a total reset, what do you think ?

More on the next episode...

PS : at the same time my kids 2 years old imac died and apple care asking me to take it to a center (impossible to make it work via phone). 2 years old and they only watch movies or play games once in a while !

I checked the top left side at the back of my BV11 (Mk I), and it is indeed warmer than the right side behind the screen. I had a look at the Service Manual (page 3), and the power supply is located in the area that is warm.

I'd say that is normal, unless the left side is abnormally hot to touch. My 1,5-year-old TV hasn't started to crackle yet... Knocking on wood.

If you listen closely, can you pinpoint where exactly the crackling noise is coming from?

Thanks for checking KMA. I checked on my parents tv and the left part of the back is also warmer than the right so that is not my problem apparently.

I get around 10 little tic/tacs per hour and each time I wan't to localised them I'm not patient enough. Not sure for the moment about a precise location, would say it's random.

Will wait for a feedback of the tech next week.

Noticed one annoying thing with total reset : can't choose Appletv anymore for Spotify button on beo4, it´s not in the list. Strange.

I also have the noise from time to time, but perhaps only once during a seating. Let us know what you hear back from the dealer. I always wondered what that was, and thinking about it I also use to hear this on my old sony trinitron. Once every ten minutes, probably time to invoke the warranty. Like KMA I am at the 19 month mark, and luckily all still well.

2 or 3 days ago my tv whent crazy during 15 minutes after switching on with little craking noise every 2/3 minutes. After that it all calmed down with a few tics after switch on and switch off.

I have no feedback from my dealer yet, I really don't whant to do anything right now that it magically calmed down. Wait and see.

It's getting warm in south east of France so maybe a cooling kit is needed like the BV10, much warmer I guess than in Struer.

While searching what's wrong with my panel, I welcome B & O to send me a free Avant that I could test to know if it also needs a cooling kit (like BV10 it seems that you can cook fried eggs on the back of the Avant...).

I have a first feedback from the tech department : the noise could be an electrical coil defect.

It as to be checked.

My tech (and I) think that it´s rather a heating/cooling problem from the panel or surroundings so we are waiting for more informations before touching anything.

At the moment they have 29 degree Celsius in Struer.
