Dear All,
Sorry to break up your party but I've been scammed by my B&O dealer here in Delhi, India and I'm just so upset that I had to share my plight it with all you people. I placed an order for B&O equipment my new house on my local B&O dealer here in Delhi, India. The total order value was US$ 60,000/-. My dealer insisted upon paying 50% as advance at the time of placing the order. At first i was hesitant, but then i thought this is B&O - the "Rolls Royce of AV equipment." What can possibly go wrong? Accordingly, I gave him US$ 30,000/- as advance. Thats where I was wrong. It has been over two years since I paid him the money and I haven't got my goods till date. In these last two years I've visited my dealer thousands of times. Each time he has a different story for me - how B&O has changed their marketing policy for the region by introducing a master dealer, blah blah blah. I even contacted Mr. Tue Mantoni who referred me to Mr. Peter Sommers, who assured me that either my products would be delivered or my advance would be returned. Later I was told by the same dealer that Mr. Peter Sommers has been fired by B&O and there is no point contacting Denmark because they are not interested in their company's reputation. This was last year October 2013.
Finally with no other option left, I finally filed a complaint with the local police here in the month of January 2014. After the police put pressure on him, he delivered one Beovision 11-55" to me in the month of March 2014. Ever since he has again been buying time by making stupid excuses like he's sued B&O and the matter is sub-judice etc. Last I heard was that B&O has revoked his license as an authorised reseller and made another dealer here in Delhi. I'm so frustrated with this whole situation that I feel I should have never gone to B&O. EVER. Its quite evident that people in Denmark don't much care about their brand name. They are more interested in introducing newer products to make more money and less interested in sorting out their distribution channels and satisfaction of customers. Sorry guys, but i needed to vent it out to some people who actually care for this brand.
This is terrible news! And it's interesting that you bring up the situation with the "new" upcoming dealer, as the other day I accidentally typed in www.beoworld.com instead of ".org" and got a splash page for an upcoming B&O dealer in Delhi India. I assume this is the one that supposedly replaced the first!
B&O dealers do seem to be very very independent outlets, especially here in the US. Seems the company is moving more toward volume over exclusivity with many of the recent changes... a lower priced TV debut, the entire Play lineup, this silly DJ connection with their headphones, and even finally giving in to more connectibility with other brands of equipment. Hopefully the customer aspect does not slide in this midst of this. I wish you luck in getting this resolved one way or another.

I think B&O do care about their reputation and I am surprised that you have had so little action. It would appear the original dealer is a crook and has probably taken your money and not ordered the goods. I think you are quite correct to involve the police though I imagine the old dealer will no doubt go bankrupt and will get out of paying any money back. The problem is that your business will be a contract between you and the dealer rather than B&O who are the suppliers. I do hope you get a just result.

Welcome to the Forum.
I feel very sorry for you, that is quite a lot of money lost (?).
Even though I cannot see why anyone would wait 1,5 to 2 years before going to the police???Do you have a contract? A proof of payments made? A lawyer? That is the only way to go ahead.
If you have written (!) Statement from Mr. Sommers ("who assured me that either my products would be delivered or my advance would be returned"), get in touch with B&O HQ again.I guess there will be some kind of buyers' protection in India, too.Ralf
