Hi Guys,

I've got a strange issue with my BM5000 and MW radio when using the AM Active antenna.

If I press advance (auto tuning) it picks up plenty of stations in LW it then progresses to MW as normal but as soon as it gets to 853Khz it stays there and wont go above. If I press advance and hold it in it will go above but then counts back to 853Khz the moment i let go.

If I unplug the active antenna from the mains (but leave it plugged into the BM) it will continue above 853Khz as expected and tune into stations higher in the band.

The 853Khz seems to be mostly silent with just a slight crackle.

Any Ideas?

Thanks.

Lee

I dismantled the AM active antenna and one of the cables that connects one of the ferrite rods to the PCB had come off so I re-soldered it. This seems to have fixed it, the only problem now is its picking up a lot of stations with weak and noisy signals.

Hi guys,

Thought I had this problem solved. But its starting doing it again....

If I chose LW or MW and start scanning upwards it will stop on a station with no noise (slight buzz) and refuse to scan above it

It will scan higher if I keep pressing proceed button but the minute I stop it scans backwards and goes back to that frequency....

Any ideas??
