With my eventual move to France I am setting up an small place to stay in Dublin as I will be back a few times a year.
I am looking to put the tv over the fireplace and I am maxed out at 40inches.
The BV4 would work as I can have the Beosystem 2/3 in another location. Not being at all familiar with the BS2/3 I have a few questions.
Is everything ie, speakers, apple tv, sub Beosound 2, (for dvds and music) et al hard wired into the Beosystem ?
What cable feeds the BV from the BS 2/3?
Alternatively I could go down the V1 or !0 route and mount the BS2 near, but I cab see this would be more wiring to bury on the chimney brest.
Interested in any thoughts between the above 3 BVs
It all depends...on how you want to use it.
1: the smallest BV4 is 42" and had the BSys2 as engine.
I would not deal with that - unless it is very cheap and you don't intend to keep it long.
2: BV10 - some people love this form factor, but in some wayit is old technology.
However if you want to connect an ML-audiomaster to it, it could be a good choice.
It is relatively big because of the speakers underneath - the screen would probably be located quite high.
3: the V1-40 - if you want a modern tv from B&O (and you like the design of it), you get all, that you need there at a good price.
Modern tuners, online sources/updating/PUC-updating.....
Flexible connection of speakers and more...
But in general - I would not place a tv over a fireplace
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV

There is also BV4 37" -> from the size it could fit.
BV4 can be found really for peanuts but I think the BV4 is really old technology.
I think none of them (37", 42" or even 50") is HD (only HD-ready) and lot of them from the first generation (MKI) does not even have DVI.
I would choose between BV10 and V1 but of course it would be more expensive.
And why not BV7-32 or even BV7-40?
Vintage Bang & Olufsen
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
Millemissen: But in general - I would not place a tv over a fireplace Needs be, its just a small 2 bed apartment. Apartments here in no way reflect the continental version and have very little storage space for log piles. Fireplace is not used and is more a useless feature. I only need to watch local tv and videos and perhaps apple tv. Anything else I would not use.

elephant:Seems the B1 would be best - I think the BV10 speaker would create a viewing angle issue. Pity as it might be more elegant. Is everything ie, speakers, apple tv, sub Beosound 2, (for dvds and music) et al hard wired into the Beosystem ? Did you mean a BC2 ? What do you need to play
Yes the BC2/3, I only need to play cds and dvds and perhaps apple tv.
There is a fiber connection here so speed is no issue.
1: if you want to play cd's through the tv, best buy the BV10 - if you need MasterLink for it.
2: but as you have a highspeed connection and don't live there full time, how about choosing the V1 and use Spotfy for music (I suppose you don't travel with your cd collection).
Same goes for movies (Netflix or alike).
Would make the installation - over the fireplace - much easier.
Millemissen: (I suppose you don't travel with your cd collection).

That's exactly where I was headed .... if you music collection is in the cloud, or on your laptop, all you need is an airplay connection ?
