Hello,

Using Beoport, Playmaker and Ipad, my music Library need to be tripled:

WMA Lossless for Beoport,

FLAC for Playmaker (by chance a MkI);

Apple Lossless for IPAD.

This is too much.

I appreciate the use of Beoport and I would like to make it FLAC-compatible.

I installed the FLAC  codec on my  Windows 7 PC, but unfortunately the files are not detected by Beoplayer during the scan.

 Is there a workaround?

Thanks by advance,

Yann.

Hmmm.

Any constructive hint?

Beoport is one of my best B&O payback-rated investment...

Smart interface, no dropouts, not wifi-ddependent and Beo4 compatible.

Kind regards,

Yann.

MM was a bit harsh, however after 2 generations 2001-2004 and 2005+ the approach is getting long in the tooth.

I still like my BeoPort (using LinkPlayer or BM-Link) and believe it yields good quality sound, however like you I am frustrated with trying to carry it forward into a second decade of life ....

I agree with Yann, the Beoport is the best part in my beosystem and it always works fine. Too bad that never BO understod that it's the small simple stable things like the Beoport that they should have bet on to keep all clients in a grip. A developed semi analoge/digital Beoport with ML/NL and fully integrated with BeoLink app had been a really good useful thing.

absolutely

And I am eternally grateful to Philippe (PHILONDON) for adding so much value to the BeoPort set-up through his LinkPlayers Mark I and II

Sorry for sounding too harsh - wasn't meant so.

But imo the BeoPort is a bit outdated - or at least a bit too nerdy, you need a computer to run it.

We have simpler and better posibilities nowadays.

@Yann - FLAC is no problem with the iPad. Just use an app like the 8Player. (You can even AirPlay from it).

Apple Lossless is no problem for the Playmaker. Just AirPlay that, or use the Remote app as a remote control.

Where is/are your library/libraries located?

if you have Apple Lossless only, the Playmaker will do all.

Do you really need the BeoPort/WMA Lossless?

I only see a problen, if you want to stick to the BeoPort.

My ripped music is complete in FLAC on a NAS - I don't feel I am missing something.

My BeoPort hasn't been connected for years.

I still think BO has lost the old basic idea that the whole family easily would be able to maneuver their system as it was in the past. To phase out the ML system before they had developed a new stable workable alternative with link sound and picture is the worst decision ever. There they lost me as an client. The last 15 year I bought a couple of new products every year just because it was stable and easy to connect to the older products and basic to maneuver for all of us in the family...
