Any possibility to link two 1658's together?  I have one connected to an IR eye now which allows me control in my living room of that zone. But would love to have one just turn on in another part of the house when I activate the eye...   Actually two more zones turning on immediately when I activate the eye would be great is that possible?

thanks

Normally? No.

Technically? Maybe. (by splitting only the ir data to both the passive's.

If you would use the powerlink inputs, all the connected would start at the same time, but with the same volume without the option to control that.

So connecting all passive through powerlink and use the ir from the master (radio/tv) to control the volume.

Easiest way: another IR-eye  with the passive with a Beolink 1000/Beo4/etc. Saves you a lot of hassle.

I was hoping to connect one powerlink cable from one passive to the other and just activate it that way.   The existing passive is connected via master link.  I am not too worried about volume control in this other room?

thanks for the reply

That will not work. The powerlink inputs are only inputs. The audio from the ML isn't connected directly to the powerlink. So connecting both powerlinks together isn't the solution.

Use one Active Link and two Passive Links.

Connect both Passive in their respective rooms through a PL-splitter from the Active (which hangs on the ML).

Connect the ir-eye to the Active in the room! where you want to do the controlling.

N.B. The Passive Links are just acting as amps.
