Is that really all it takes to 'ruin' the Moment for you?
MM
Absolutely, it's what makes it look like a glorified tablet case on that side!
To pretend it doesn't look like a plain vanilla tablet dropped into a housing is the same as admiring the emporers new suit!
Ban boring signatures!
Millemissen:Actually it is not mine - unfortunately It belongs to a friend of mine (don't ask me who) - but I had the pleasure yesterday to 'play with it' for a couple of hours, and to hear which experiences he has with it. As you see in the picture above - actually you can't see that - it is connected to his BV11 simply through NL. You just choose the NL-BV as option for the speakers output in the setup menu of the Moment. Then - automatically - 4 new entries are created in the Source Menu (of the BV) and the connection is there. You either start the playback from touching the middle of the 'wheel'/by choosing, what you want to listen to in the menu of the Jukebox, or by pushing the assigned button on your Beo4/BeoRemote One. More pics later ---- when I have the time - and am on my Mac. MM There is a tv - and there is a BV.
Interesting to see it connected via NL to a recent BV. Apart from the discussion on it's looks, I have been wondering on the added functionality for owners of recent BeoVisions. They do already have the sound system built into the tv so what can/should the Moment add to that? Interesting. Would be nice if you were able to control the BeoVision with it, like some sort of a TV remote.
BeoVision 11-55, BeoLab 8000, BeoRemote One BT, AppleTV 4, 2x BeoPlay A2, BeoPlay A1
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
@Chris
how do you suppose that that should work???
There is a tv - and there is a BV

First steps first!
That would be another product.
Who knows - the Jukebox should be able to interact with another type of base.
Maybe we will se such kind of 'base' built into a future BeoVision/BV version
Just speculating!
Apart from the fact that there actually are 5 new sources available on the BV, here they are.
Sorry had to post it like this:
Part 2
Chris Townsend:As long as the Moment can communicate with say a BV11, then all the BV11 would have to do us send PUC signals etc What would it be doing any differently to say a BEO4/6, except not by infra red? Just a thought.

I must admit - I can't follow you
Please explain a bit more.
Maybe this helps to understand how the Moment works:
The Jukebox (the tablet) communicates with the Soundheart (the base) through the wireless access point, that the Soundheart creates.
The Soundheart again is on the same network (the NL) as the BV.
From there the sources of the Soundheart can be shared.
And you can access these with the BeoRemote One/Beo4 as with any other source available on the BV.
You need to know how a V1/BV11/Avant/BSys4 works to understand this - it is quite different than with a BV7 and ML.
Enjoy - 👽👽👽👽👽

BeoNut since '75
The SoundHeart - alone:
Connections of the SoundHeart - those, that we can see:
And this is the main menu of the BS Moment:
The soundheart looks terrible without the jukebox. This is really disheartening to see B&O authorising the release such object.
Beoworld app with direct photo upload and emoticons.
@ PhilLondon Agree, The Moment SoundHeart Box on its own Don't look that good
It's the Moment and the Music that your looking/Listening too not the dock!
Hello,
maybe a stupid question, but is it possible to search for Music on the Moment via a (vitual) keypad? Or is the only possibility to use the BeoMusic App?
Best regards
If you look at the picture (the one with the red wine) on the previous page, you can see a screen with 4 categories in the upper line of the screen. Sorry - the picture is not very clear.
This screen apears, when you swipe up from the main - MoodWheel - screen.
One of these categories is 'Artist'. If you doble-tap this entry, you will get a new screen with the alphabet.
This is the only way to go directly to an artist with e.g. 'S'' on the device?
At least it was like that with the software running the other day
If you tap only one time, you will get the artists/albums as coverpics, and you will have to scroll (right/left) to get to, what you are looking for - just as on the BS5 or with the HomeMedia on the newer BV's.
When I get to my Mac later, I will post a couple of pictures, that shows how the Jukebox reacts, when you use the BeoMusic app.
Thanks Millemissen for all the pic's & info on the Moment! Is there a Nas running on the one that you are using? Make/Model ect if poss?

We can discuss this for a long time - some will like it, others won't. Some will just tolerate it - but not love it!
But do consider, that the photo is from a temporary setup, and not very professional made.
As we all know, everything looks prettier in the right surroundings.....
....even a cat like me 🐱
Have a look at the pictures on the B&O website/blogsite!

The 'owner' has several different NAS's running - one of these a newer Synology.
But the main thing - for the section with your own music - is the DLNA server running on the NAS.
That is just like with any other streamer.
And Indication on how you control it with a Beo4 or an Beoremote One?
PhilLondon: And Indication on how you control it with a Beo4 or an Beoremote One?
Please do (re)read the post/s above, and have a look at the photos from the Source List of the BV11.
I suppose, that it will be exactly the same, if you are running it with speakers connected directly.
By the way - it might turn out, that it will be easier to control with a BeoRemote One, than with the Beo4.
Is finally the Moment able to play gapless in DLNA? That would be a revolution for B&O!!! (a revolution that happpened on the years 2000's for every other manufacturer of mp3 players...)

@ Millemissen What Music System do you Like? The Beosound 5 or the Moment?
I like the Bs5 and the Future of the Moment NL ect and the looks up to a point, but I do like my Bs5 in use and the look but it's not portable like the Moment or the Future of NL ease of connection to newer stuff and whats to come?
I am warming to the Moment. A real hands on Moment will help me decide?
I wonder also if there is a Mk2 Avant around the cornor or a Bv11 4k up grade?
mbee: Is finally the Moment able to play gapless in DLNA? That would be a revolution for B&O!!! (a revolution that happpened on the years 2000's for every other manufacturer of mp3 players...)
'Gapless over DLNA' - that has always been a problem.
The companies, that have a gapless playback solution in their streamers,
have had to 'work with certain tricks' - it is not in the nature of DLNA to play without the gaps.
So probably not - but that will have to be verified first.
Personally I'd very much want that feature, since I am an album listener. I find it horrible, when the music pauses, even if it should continue.
That is the reason, why I love my Logitech Media Server and my Squeezebox(es) - no problem with gapless playback there.
On the other hand - most people/most B&O costumers don't care, if gapless playback is supported or not.
They are listening to 'playlists' anyway
I am not aware of any MP3-player that uses DLNA or play from a stream.
They play from an internal memory - and that is something quite different.
how many playlists can you make with the moment?
I can't answer that - but I don't suppose, that there is a limit to that.
And if there is, it probably will be higher than 99% of the users need.
The beosound 5 is limited to 4 playlists.....IMHO ridiculous.
Please put the tablet back on it. Looks horrific without it.
But I guess, I can't comment as I haven't seen it live... LOL
Too long to list....
koning: The beosound 5 is limited to 4 playlists.....IMHO ridiculous.
Well, the Moment does make the Beosound 5 look like Alien technology from the future.
bayerische: Please put the tablet back on it. Looks horrific without it. But I guess, I can't comment as I haven't seen it live... LOL
Looks like the Moment will be perfect for you!
One touch and let it play - the Jukebox stays on the dock.
Remains just one problem - which side should be up?
M☺️M

B&O product history since 1991: Ridiculously long to list in a signature.

I'd rather have a cat.
