For those interested in Moment's RCA line in capabilities, here is BeoCare answer:
The delay upon the RCA input/output then the delay is approximately ½ second, meaning that you cannot use this option with your TV as sound and picture will not be simultaneous. The RCA has by default a sensitivity which cannot be changed. The TR1(Transmitter 1) can be adjusted regarding sensitivity, but this requires a servicetool and can only be done via your Bang & Olufsen retailer.TR1 does not have a delay as the RCA option has, and due to this we also recommend the TR1 with connection to a 3rd party TV.

Regarding Artists appearing twice when part of two collections (Deezer and personal), here is BeoCare answer:
We have know created this "issue" as a request for change. Yet we do not know when and if we are able to merge these collections into the same view. However if we find a solution you will be informed ASAP via mail.
Regarding the missing gapless playback, here is BeoCare answer:
We have added your request to our KE list.At the moment we do not have any plans of introducing this feature to BeoSound Moment, I am sorry. However if we will implement this feature you will be informed via mail.

I guess I will not be buying one... although, I wasn't thinking about it anyway as I'm quite happy with my current system. I asked one of my kids for a Pink Floyd CD for Christmas. He looked at me funny and said "why would you want that?". Me: It's a good album, what's the problem? Him: Why a CD? You have Spotify, just listen to it there. Me: Because Spotify cannot play it gapless, and the gaps on "The Wall" drive me nuts. Him: Gave me another funny look... Younger generation...

Maybe they should make a whole lot of these 'warning plates' - and sell them to other manufactorers of streaming devices as well.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Will you please stop it with these "other people don't do it either" type excuses! The fact is that it is possible and therefore should be done, it is an important feature and a glaring omission for many classical music listeners as well as the other albums mentioned here.
Ban boring signatures!
I have two albums of 'The Dark Side of the Moon' in my collection. One with the gaps and I made a second album Gapless with the Audacity program.

Feel free to fight the facts!
Personally I - long ago - choose another server concept than DLNA to play my files gapless.
And I'll stick to that - because I (too) hate that an 'album' is being chopped up and transformed into a 'playlist'.
However, it doesn't upset me that much anymore, since the biggest part of my listening comes from streaming services.
Nowadays I am more interested in finding a service that can handle this issue correct.

There are some user-workarounds to avoid an album being chopped up.
Creating a cue sheet is one.
Not every user wants to spend that much efford/time, before he can listen to his music.
Might be a way to go, if you are a dedicated 'album listener' - and rip your own CD's.

Had the Moment now for a few weeks and am finding the mood wheel doesn't exactly work properly for me and I'm not sure why. I press the mood and it plays the same song over and over again, or will play the initial song, a different song and then right back to the original one. Should I reset the system?
Hopefully the fix the add content section to acknowledge a function being pressed. I've had to wait 5 minutes when I go to turn it on (not sure why it freezes up).
Otherwise it all works intuitively enough and it's nice to hold and use, far more pleasurable to use than the BS5!

The BeoSound Moment was delayed 6 months approximatively.
It is shameful that softwares have so much problem. For a new high end product of € 2.200, I found no excuses.
Is there nobody in Struer to test seriously the product before to launch it ?
How bad reputation now for Bang & Olufsen !
It is really not serious from CEO Tue Mantoni and his Staff.
I will not complain if the Audio/Video department bankrupt.
It's really a shame, to say the least, that the Moment doesn't work properly from the beginning.
We have been waiting for the "new audio product" for ages and it should be bulletproof.
I think the price tag is correct and that makes it even more frustrating.
The device alone doesn't work flawlessly so for those waiting for multiroom, you may wait a while...
Anyway, the Moment should have been multiroom from the launch.
Again a new product and, like the Avant, again promises of a better future with a minor software update !
We are all dreaming here and trying to find excuses.
But when you think about it two seconds there are no excuses to be found. B & O is not a startup company but will soon have ninety candles on it's birthday cake. It should dominate the business instead of trying to get the head out of the water.
Another example : when I got my BV11 one year ago I subscribed to Spotify to fully enjoy the device (french Deezer wasn't available yet). I wasn't familiar with that kind of music (still a BS 9000 boy untill it dies !) but got used to it and created a few playlists.
Today if I want a Moment only Deezer is available. Gone Spotify, gone my playlists, say hello to a new subscription and create new playslists. This can't be serious. We are talking (for me anyway) about the ultimate of luxury audio and video goods and it should be total pleasure not total waste of time.
Yes you are irritating B & O !

Just to be on the safe side: Can you confirm that the Moment can do automatic updates? When I got mine there was a note that units manufactured before Feb 5 was pointed at wrong Beocare server. To fix that, a factory reset was required.
Mine behaved slow before I did factory reset and got the Moment to do first update (that´s what I think anyway).
Sounds strange that you only get a few songs in moodplay. Which circle in Moodplay do you press? The inner circle is your own collection plus any songs you have marked as loved tracks in Deezer. Next circle out is Deezer songs, that a similar to what you have in your collection. The other ring is Deezer tracks that match the mood but is different to your collection.

BeoBoy68:Completely agree BeoGreg Where is the spirit of Bang & Olufsen ? Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen were rigorous and perfectionist.
Where is the spirit of Bang & Olufsen ?
Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen were rigorous and perfectionist.
While I agree with your sentiment, that some of the new gear was released way too prematurely, I'd also have to point out that being rigorous and perfectionist today is a lot harder than when what you made was a radio power supply or even a radio. Unfortunately, this points out one of B&Os apparent weaknesses, software engineering and development, as opposed to say design or speaker sonics, which they excel at. Still, B&O will live or die by the impression their s/w makes, and it ain't looking that good now, though I hope their design and sonics can carry them until they get their s/w act together.
Software design is an odd thing, especially in a consumer market. It's frightfully difficult and the level of complexity rises geometrically with the number of things you want to do, and the idiot proofing of the user interface. Some companies do it well, most don't. One of the things that came up when I was working in engineering is that when developing something the idea was all too often "well, if the hardware isn't working we'll just fix it in software" or "that'll be hard to do in hardware, we'll let the software handle it." Bad idea, it came out that when, in our environment, you added things like development time, testing, documentation, regression testing every single time you made any change to any module of the software, doing it in software cost over 10x what it did to do it in hardware. The lesson was that only things that couldn't be done in hardware should be in software. Unfortunately more and more things can't be done in hardware, at least things like the Moment tries to do.
It's a difficult position to be in, more so when your business is not doing well and relies on the devices performing well and not PO'ing your customers.
Jeff
I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
To some extend I agree with you.
There is just one thing about 'going hardware' - it limits you to the result that is approved, when the product is released to the marked.
Doing things in software always gives you the opportunity to 'make things better' along the way.
What might seem to be a drawback for the costumer ('an unfinished product'), could end up being the better solution - with ripening and adding of new functions. And the costumer may be able to keep the product for a longer period.

The major problem with what you say is that B&O don't really have a good track record with software "opportunities, mights and mays". I suspect many potential customers will stay away until a lot of the basics highlighted in this thread and others have been satisfactorily ironed out.
Had a hard time this evening in setting up this thing. It stops in finding a V1 for the speakers. Reset it several times, then removed my V-masters until finally I restarted the V1 again in option 1. Then closing it. Restarted the V1 and put it in original option 2 again, restarted again the V1. Did a reset on the Moment and BOEM it works. Its all so easy with B&O, look at the little guy to the right of the Moment. He looks tired also.... But I have a new toy at home

Wow, everyone placing their new BS Moments on wooden furniture :-) (Except for Hiort)... when are you going to replace your white sleek and modern media furniture? LOL

Hi thanks for that information, being one of the earliest I'll reset my system and see how that works out. My music collection I have cut right down to about a thousand on my NAS.
I am still far more happier using this than the BS5 and it's only going to get better over time.
tradingman:Hi, using the Moment with the BeoApp - is this a WLAN or Bluetooth connection when seaching a Song in Deezer? Regards
Regards
You search a song on a the tablet, connected by Wlan on the same wireless network where the Moment and NL-device is connected to, and it starts playing from your Moment. Afterwards you can close the app on your tablet if you wish. The app you need is not BeoApp but BeoMusic app.
Luke: I am still far more happier using this than the BS5 and it's only going to get better over time.
Can you explain your preference for the Moment over the BS5? I'm assuming your sentiment would be the same for the Encore as well.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
While at my dealer last night for Beolit 15 (not here yet) I had my first look at the Moment.
Sum up :
- it looks much smaller in the flesh than on a picture, "the brick" is a small brick and the screen is more an Ipad mini size than an ordinary Ipad.
- the screen was full of finger prints and a scratch, not nice at all.
- when I picked up the pad to return it and look at the wood side there was a big craking noise on the side (alu part) of the pad. I have big hands but I was gentle with it !
- the wood feeling is nice, the wood wheel worked well.
For me it's more a gadget (to keep a few years) than an audio system (that when you buy it a part of your brain think you are going to keep it the rest of your life). Unfortunately, I think the pad won't last long but the price is ok so...
Chris Townsend:The only flaw in using the Beomusic app, is that it makes the Moments interface seem very dated. Beovision 7-55 Mk2, Beovision 8-32, Avant RF 28, Beolab 8000, Beolit 12, Beoplay A2, Beocom 2, Beotime, H6, Form 2.
Strikes me the Moment is to IPad what Aston Martin did with the IQ to make the Cygnet . But without the emissions fiddling aspect.

I just never felt connected with the BS5 or Encore, it sat in a corner and looked nice enough but I feel I need to be at hand with digital files more often than I would than using a CD player. I also feel this system is more convenient to use at a party, the BS5 was difficult for guests to use and slow to find songs and tedious regarding playlists.
However, this new product I am finding extraordinarily bug ridden. Waiting 10+ minutes for it to wake up and do something kills the moment. And oh my god the fingerprints!
